Quite ok christmasbeer, but way beyond the best there is among christmas beers. It’s malty and thin, but not bad.

33 cl alu-can from an Eurospar.
Beige (fawn) coloured and durable head. Ruby brown body.
Scents of hay and hops, sweet malts, maybe some apple peel.
Tastes syrupy malts, some caramel, some hops, dark chocolate.
Very low carbonation, smooth and slippery. Roasted malts and dark chocolate at the end. Lacks christmas spices, lacks carbonation. Anyway a decent amber lager, but not any party-party feeling from it.

0.33l can. This is a clear deep ruby colored thing with an impressive looking medium sized almost creamy and lasting beige top. The nose is a bit less impressive with a sour metallic tone. Some nuts and burned caramel also in here, but that metallic sourness is really annoying. It has a nice creamy but watery mouthfeel. The taste is far out there on the sweet side of the scale! More nutty tones in the taste also - quite a lot actually. Traces of something dark and caramel-chocolaty also with a soft burned aftertaste. It’s actually not horrible to drink, but I can safely say to myself that I’m not going to purchase this again. Now, off to the julebord! 08.12.2012

Can at home. Has a slightly hazy deep reddish brown colour with a medium beige head. Dried fruit in the aroma with oak, leather and some cocoa, cinnamon and dark berries. Nice and feels very belgian. The flavour is more careful but pretty much of the same with mainly leather and dried fruit. A bit thin and slick mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. This is Christmas beer is actually pretty nice, but not rich enough in the mouth. Fascinating belgian-like and complex for being a lighter Christmas beer.
