3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Splitenz (7) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 13, 2012 does not count
Ringnes can't really make any worthwhile beer (apart from strong christmas beers, they are excellent!) in my oppinion. They know how to buy up and destroy other breweries (Schous) and in turn be taken over by slightly more "evil" Carlsberg (ok, I joke a bit but, you get my meaning). They took over Frydenlund and raced that tradition off the Oslo map, but unlike the other Oslo rival Schous, they claim to have kept the Frydenlund yeast, and that is why this (and fatøl) still exisits. In my oppinion Norways finest macro pilsner is Frydenlund, be it in a can or on draft. I will gladly go to a different place when I go out to drink "normal" beer, in order to get Frydenlund. Well, anything to avoid drinking Bergens Hansa in Oslo really. Too bad it's not a proper brewery anymore, but it could have been worse (Schous).

50ml can. Soft norwegian pilsener. Slightly grainy aroma with a tiny hint of citrus. Pilsener in the pilsener tradition. Well balanced, a bit too standard.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 esp0r (792) - NORWAY - FEB 8, 2011
Can. Light golden clear with a white head that leaves rings inside the glas. Smells of hay and malts with some fruityness. Taste is neutral. Dry at first but some malts fruity taste and later on. The finish is good but a little too discrete. I wish for some more hops. When this beer disappeared some years ago i really missed it. Now i can’t remember why i missed it. there are better norwegian standard pilseners out there

01.01.2011. 0,5l Can. Pale yellow colour with white head. Rather weak malty aroma. There is a sharp bitterness from both aroma hops and bitter hops. I think this is a very good pilsner!
