Bottle. Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Slightly hazy body with an orange/yellow colour. Spar lacing. Dusty grain, caramel, fruit, citrus. Light bodied with a soft carbonation. Flavour was light sweet malt with some acidic. Finish was sweet with a sting of acidic.

Hazy blond color. Almost no aroma, some plastic. Poor flavor, traces of wheat, some malt and nothing else. Useless.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2007 Bottled at the brewpub. Cloudy golden, creamy head. Fruity nose with some unexpected strawberry esters. Sweetish and fruity, medium bodied. Notes of apples and banana. Freshening, but unconvincing.

Thin and vaguely hazy. Some dry yeasty vinousness on the nostril. Dull and headless. A very faint champagne-like toasty dryness. No fruit, no wheat, no perfume. A bit of half-hearted diversification? Blander than a bog-standard pint of frozen pub lager. Too simplistic and delicate for a Weizen. Stick to the Alt, lads.

MiP (13773) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2007
Bottle at the brewpub, 5,4%. Weak apple aroma. Cloudy orange colour. The flavour is sour, like infection, but also citric enough to be drinkable. Fruity, citric flavour along with diacetyl and sour rag. Overall more drinkable than it sounds, though.

Aus der flasche @ Im Füchschen Brauhaus, Düsseldorf, Germany.
It was early morning, our first day in the plush, busy surrounds of bustling Düsseldorf - the ’twit’s’ town. This one - breakfast beer to the locals - was a perfect aperitif for, you guessed it, breakfast. I didn’t need much after this. The Silver fox pours a cloudy, opaque, orange gold with just a tinge of chestnut. Well charged, well supplied, the head rose to a good inch and a half thick and settled there - rocky, tight and adherent to the glass. Flour and fresh cracked toasted wheat on the nose, gritty, heavy, like a heady loaf of fresh baked, warm bread. Malty and wheaty in the mouth, clean though full and slightly pasty, starchy. Light hint of cloves, just a touch of sour mashed malt. a little lemon juice. The malts grip this one with vigour, beautifully defined and well received. The length is wonderfully malty, complex, dusty and gritty with that balance of tangy sourness to keep it interesting. It becomes yeasty as it warms and a little marmalade begins to show. Nicely balanced, satisfying and a hearty meal in a bottle. This was good stuff. (50cL swing-stopper, 16/06/06 [tasted in June ’06])

Not for the hefe purist, as this one was more like an alt-weissbier, the cloves and bananas underplayed in the flavor and aroma. Really much like an American wheat in wheat beer-ness, although cloudy, as this one had a dry and somewhat hoppy touch (like Fuchschen’s standard altbier) that overplayed anything otherwise German wheat about this one. In terms of standard hefe character, the appearance was it. However, a unique spin on this style deserves some credit for novelty sake.

Cloudy/murky light golden color with a large white head and a high appearance of carbonation. Spicy, bitter, grassy with a hint of clove. Yeasty, bready flavor with a very thin body. A disapointment, as I was hoping for more of a bavarian style wheat beer.

Bottle at the brewpub. Increadibly cold bottle. Aroma is more citrus than expected, banana and glove are here but not so prodiminat which is good for a change. Taste is similar, sometimes a bit chewy, maybe deserves a lower rating than its getting, but in the brewpub everythign seems great.
