Cask Stillage at Nottingham Castle, Nottingham 09/10/2009 Fruity aroma. Golden coloured fruity and slightly hoppy with a crisp dry and peppery finish.

Cask gravity, Nottingham 09. Foggy orange amber under a white rim. Gentle orange hops, herbal and citrus hints with a sprinkle of choc and Hobnob nuttiness. Fresh lingering biscuit; soggy Rich Tea and Malted Milk. Big malt body at the ABV, so much so I wouldn’t have picked up on the paltry 2.8% blind, and hadn’t zoned in on this one over Brewdog Bashah as my festival opener. Just a fresh biscuity, orange-accented bitter really that happens to be under 3%, but I’ve stuck it under Low Alcohol because it deserves to be top of the heap. Better than just a fantastic concept, which it is, although I admit my impressions may have been favourably swayed by the fact I was paid 20p to take it away by the guy who served me, as it wasn’t considered sufficiently alcoholic by the festival organisers to be worthy of a full token.
