Cask at GBBF 2009 ... deep black ... rich blackcurrant malt nose ... soft roast ... lots of malts ... little fruit.

Cask conditioned handpump North Bar Leeds 14/05/12. A little murky dark brown coloured beer with a whitish head. Slightly toasty sweet caramel aroma. Sweetish in the mouth with chocolate and fruit. A bit of veg. A fairly flavoursome decent mild.

Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and toffee, with an ash note. Dry and malty flavour again with ashy roasted character, which is a bit too much for my taste

A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF.
Almost black, no head. Great dry roasted nutty malt. Nice and smoky, honts of wood plus plenty of coffee and chocolate. A really good mild.

Cask at GBBF ’09, dark brown with no head. Aroma of burnt coffee. A little thin, smokey but also burnt toffee. A little undecided on it.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Dark, almost opaque brown color, small beige head. Caramelly, herbal, almost a bit smokey. Herbal-grassy notes in the caramel flavor, there is odd flavors, kind of gingseng or exotic herbs. Decent body for 3.8% beer.
