Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, dark roasted, burnt, stove. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090805]

Bottle conditioned from Asda, I think. Cloudy red black, big fluffy beige head, insistent condition. Fruity tart aromas with hints of earthy chocolate, dry bitter yeast and chocolate in the mouth with a much subdued fruitiness lurking at the back, gentle lingering dry bitterness in the finish.

Cask at The London Drinker Festival 2009. Very dark brown with a small froth. Tart berries aroma. Berries flavours blend with slightly dry roast. Light-bodied as appropriate. Old-fashioned mild.

Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Nice complex complex aroma with laurel, licorice, black berries and chocolate. Hazy, dark brown colour, fine light brown head, good lace. Sweetish, sourish and bitter. Unbalanced complexity of fruits, chocolate, laurel and old tea. Quite watery.

Angry fist of Santa tasting at Chris_o’s. Very deep chestnut/ruby with thin beige head. Hey it’s a mild gueze. Some mild choc flavours. It they intended it, it would be brilliant, sweetness from the malts. Very drinkable. Yes it’s infected, but lovely. Interesting.

A Mes rate: bottle at Chris_O’s "Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf / Hog Fest" tasting.
Mid amber with a thin off white head. Earty aroma with a slight sourness. Lemon acidity with a clear lambic like feel thanks to an obvious infection. It’s odd, clearly wrong and I can’t help liking it. Think of a Flemish mild and you are pretty much there. Slight sweetness from the malt puts it quite close to a Duchesse. I’m in two minds here. This is clearly not drinking as the brewer intended it and I know it’s wrong. But I quite like it. So I’m rating it as such. Who cares?

Bottle at chris_o’s cowboy with beasts of a wolfish nature rather than the normal wilderbeast banter. Alround rating: Tart soft brown malts, sour infected beer, but still of relitive drinkability.

Bottle @ Chris_o’s Pre-Beer Exposed Tasting, September 2008.
Pours deep nutty brown with a good, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is light raisins, malty and sour grapes. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is sour and infected. Somehow drinkable anyways (?).
