Bottle conditoned. Poured a mild brown colour with a medium white head. The beer has a real fruit aroma with a real taste that was very fruity with a hint of pears. The beer has a bitter hoppy aftertaste.

[Cask at the Bacchus Hotel, Sutton-on-Sea] Amber with a thick white head. Rich & fruity at first, but by the end it becomes herby and a little sour, with a moderate dirty bitterness. Not great.

Cask at Green Man, Stamford, Lincolnshire. Amber with a small white head. Grainy Ovaltine and breakfast cereal aroma. That’s not bad, but it’s the taste I don’t like. It’s rounded, leathery malt with a rather oppressive milky Horlicks taste. Some bitterness. The theme here is obviously proprietory bedtime drinks, and it clearly doesn’t work for me.

Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer Fest ’09. Brown amber with no head. In a festival of great beer this was the stinker, there was a fusty, mouldy taste to it, tart and I poured it after a short while. yeeuk.
