Cask Handpump at the Ship & Mitre, Liverpool 17/03/2005 Black fruity and a little rich on the palate with a slightly bitter dry finish.

Bottle conditioned, from High Spirits in Cleethorpes. Jet black, thin but lasting pale beige head and low condition. Pleasant sweet and fruity nose with hints of coffee, burdock, roasted barley and a faint earthy barnyard note. Quite dry and chalky in the mouth with roasted barley, liquorice and coffee beans. Bitter yeast dryness and sweet liquorice in the finish.
