Draught at Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, 2011. Bready, grain aroma with light hops, a touch of lemon, and dough. Bright yellow with a nice head. Rather sweet flavor with light bitterness and a bit of salt. Finish could be much more bitter. Medium body, creamy palate. More like a helles—needs more hops.

Golden color with a big thick white head. Slightly hoppy floral nose. Bright malty start, then hops come in. Refreshing somewhat floral finish.

OK, why does this smell like gueuze? Seriously. It doesn’t taste like gueuze. The flavour is mild and sweet, a little grainy, some bready malt notes. OK, there’s a hint of acidity in the finish. But the aroma is all leather, barnyard and apple skins. It makes no sense. But I’m a gueuze whore, so it’s cool.

A deep gold color, great hop scent. WOW! One of the best Japanese made pilsners I’ve had, no....on second thought this is the best one so far! Reminds me of a cross between a good Czech and a Bohemian Pils. Very high marks here and not being a big Pils fan, that says something from me!
