2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, - SEP 14, 2009
Draught at the Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, Iwate.
Red-orange color with a small head. Dusty, vegetal aroma. Light flavor; medicinal and grassy; not good at all. Bitter hop finish. Nothing much going for it. Maybe a bad batch?
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 buzzoven (376) - JAPAN - SEP 26, 2010
For a style that im not crazy about, this one left me somewhat intrigued. It carries itself with a fairly hefty malty backbone and a strong sweet sugar presence. Not really something that i could drink multiple pints of...but it was enjoyable enough...and memorable.

Tasted @ GJBF Yokohama: Dark amber color, thin head. Nose of light malt and fruit, wet impact, dry mouthfeel, thin finish. Decent malty amber ale.

Deep amber red color. No head, German malts. Sour malty nose. Sweet, malty caramel mouth with a bit of butterscotch. As chad said not bad.

Bottle. Sweet aroma, reddish-pink hazy appearance. Pear/apple, tart, with a bitter finish as Dan pointed out. Interesting and crisp, full-bodied. Not a bad effort.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 IslandHaole (1060) - Yokosuka-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, JAPAN - NOV 12, 2004
This is a Red Ale made with Amber & Crystal malts using an English Ale yeast. Nice Orange/Amber color with a rich malt scent. Starts sweet with the malts but has a bit of a tart snappy middle and a mild bitter follow. Quite tasty! Pamphlet mentions this won a Bronze Medal at the World Beer Cup in 1998 and an award at the Japan Beer Grand Prix
