Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Oddly flat, subdued and warm-feeling beer. I thought it might be a Porter or lifeless Stout, but on reflection it’s more likely one of the those stronger Winter bitters, than sit sometimes uncomfortably in the Premium/ESB category. A bit like licking greaseproof paper. Not much taste or body. Jet black with a beige head. Some slight berries and residual cobweb of roast.
