Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and spruce hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter flavor with a moderate bitter finish of medium duration. Good brew.

If you like chinook, you'll love it. If not, not so much. Try it, you might dig it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light gold color with zero head and no lacing. Minimal grapefruit aroma. Flavor is pretty rancid. Tastes like burnt windex. I’m sorry this didn’t work out- new beer at the bottleshop and I wanted to like it. Good thing I only got this instead of all 4-6 of their offerings...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy brown amber with a little head. Aroma is citrusy hops. Flavor matches aroma, very happy with this beer.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
On tap Union Jacks (North Hills) - Chinook is certainly not a hop that I’d pick for a single hop IPA as it’s one that can easily be over used in a beer. I’m not sure where in their description they get "grapefruit" as an aroma for Chinook either. Missing was much in the way of piney aromas, and instead it seems all of the hops went into just bittering - long in the kettle. The beer was so bitter and astringent it was almost medicinal - like swallowing a bitter pill and you fumbled on the water. It was a long lasting, biting sharp bitterness too - I could still taste it after several minutes from my couple of sips.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a darker amber color with an off-white head. Pine hops dominate with some citrus and caramel malts. Flavor is full of pine as well. Slightly watery on the finish but still some bitterness.

12oz bottle, shared by Jay. Best by August 2013. It’s likely ultra fresh right now, but that seems like an awfully long window for an IPA.. Mostly clear amber color. Thin white head leaves good spray of lace. Medium body. Smooth texture. Just a light stickiness in the finish. Kind of a rye spicy hop flavor ( but no rye!). Sweet, light bitterness in the finish. Grapefruit citrus, some resin. Tasty, flavorful lighter ABV IPA. Spicy citrus flavor is nice. Very interesting tasty assertive hop profile, as it is.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Copper-golden color, a bit cloudy. Aroma is strongly of hops. Taste is REALLY hoppy - one of the hoppiest beers I ever had in my life.

Pint glass from tap. Deep amber color with thin white head and minimal lacing. Aroma of citrus and slight fruit. Definitely taste the unique Chinook Hop flavor. Not my favorite IPA but I will definitely drink it again
