3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a slightly hazy, orange-golden color with a bumpy antique white head. It has a perfumy, piny, and orangy/lemony bouquet. A bit of a burning sensation underlies the otherwise wet, filling mouthfeel. A bit of a sweet, malty backbone that quickly gets overwhelmed by some dull, bitter grapefruit. The kind with a pale yellow peel and white-pink flesh. When it finishes, it’s reminiscent of the Greyhounds I used to drink--grapefruit juice and vodka cocktails.

Kinda skunky ipa. Bit too sweet. Heavy in citrus. Not great.

Bottle. Sweet apricot, citrusy hops and rich caramel malt aroma. Hazy orange with a small white head, heavy flocculation. Sweet fruity malt, astringent piney herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2016 Rerate 5/2/16. Bottle. Aroma of citrus, bitter hops, flowery hops, caramel malt. Flavor of caramel with bitter hops, bitter orange rind, citrus. Heavy palate for an IPA. Solid IPA, better than I’d remembered.
7/6/13. On tap. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt, and a touch of crystal malt. Flavor of crystal malt, bitter earthy hops, caramel malt, perfumey hops. Hmm, a bit flawed but it’s drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Smokin Joes. Pours clear burnt orange with a white head. Aromas of caramel and some pale malts with some light citrus and a little pine. Flavors of pine, grapefruit, little orange, and some malty sweetness. This one is fresh and packs nice bitter punch. Surprised by the low ratings as this is a nice solid IPA. Can’t wait to brew with these hops.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Split a 12oz bottle with friends. Poured an amber color with a small white head. Aroma was earthy hops, lightly roasted malts, some light fruit characters. Flavor had caramel notes, earthy malts, some bitterness. May not have been the freshest, because it was lacking in the grapefruit and pine notes.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a orange-amber color with lots of floating sediment. I thought I was careful with the pour. Pungent herbal, floral and spicy aroma with some fruits too. Taste is weird though. Very herbal, very dry, and stale hops. Too much caramel malt too. A little pine in the finish. After a solid aroma, the taste is very disappointing.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
[Cask @ Spinnerstown] Amber color with no head. Aroma of floral hops, pine, citrus, grass, and grapefruit. Taste of bitter chinooks, light sweetness, some pine, and bitter grapefruit in the finish. This cask seemed lifeless and overly bitter.
