COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We hit this full bodied IPA with “nookie” four times during the brewing process to give this ale its trademark Chinook hop character. We then “dry nookied” this flavorful ale to further enhance its grapefruit and pine aroma.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Hazy medium amber-orange, thin white head, spotty lacing. Light citric hops, pale malts, some resin in the back end. Flavor shows increased grapefruit. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, moderate bitterness.

Very hoppy flavor, slight bitter aftertaste, strong pine aroma and taste, great beer if you love hops, a bit too hoppy for me, could use a little more caramel or malt to balance and smooth it out

Bottle. Pours dark hazy golden color thin tan lacing. Aroma is heavy pine and citrus. Mild sweet taste. Medium body, average carbonation, dry, medium bitter finish. Not the best but a pretty solid IPA, underrated.

This really wasn’t bad at all. Orange amber, off clear, with some yeast clumps at the end of the bottle. Pine and grass on the aroma with more pine and citrus in the flavor without too much harshness. Almost dry and a little thin for an IPA, but would could be outstanding as an over the top pale ale (without the yeasty floaters).

12 ounce bottle
Another fresh beer was drunk pretty soon after returning from a trip. This one was purchased based on the bottle but did not disappoint too much. It was not the best IPA yet good enough not to pour down the drain.

Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy base is a brackish brown color with orange tints. A dense half finger head sticks to the top like thick snowfall. Polished maple, grapefruits, and the smell of clean waxed floorboards sharpen the senses. This is simultaneously malty and hoppy.

Flavor / Palate - Bitter pine rubs at the palate almost immediately. Orange, cloves, and grapefruit combine into a drinkable experience. The one flaw might be too much of an emphasis on the malt profile. Maybe this falls off faster than I expected but it could be better.

Pours copper colored. Aroma is piney and citrusy hops. Taste is also heavy on the hops. The citrus comes forward a bit in the taste. Enough of a malt backbone to not be overwhelming. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is very hoppy with citrus, pine, and grass. The malts are sweet with caramel and a touch of maple syrup. The appearance is copper with an average head and lots of floating particles. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it has a unique maple syrup element that I like but a couple of flaws, still a very good beer.

Bottle to glass mug. Pours a cloudy brownish orange with a off white head. Great aroma of grapefruit & citrus. The flavor is heavy on the pine / grapefruit spectrum. Not much malt character to this. Unique IPA.

Bottle. Pours amber with tannish head. Solid hop bitterness and some piney taste and aroma but the roasted malt really dominate this beer. Almost ashtray like aftertaste. I didn’t pick up on any of the pineapple I typically taste in Chinook beers just a little in the nose. Pretty good beer but too much roasted malt for me.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and piney hops plus a nice amount of caramel malts. Flavor the same, with a lot of hop presence. Average texture. A pretty good IPA.
