3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MrBunn (2053) - Western, USA - OCT 26, 2010
Bottle. So I’ve seen this in the standard PA format of cases for a while and wondered if I’d get the chance to buy a single bottle before the full plunge with a whole case... finally got my shot and I must say I’m a little troubled by the name... chinookie? Really? What would my salmon-fishing buddies think? Anyhow, pour is a deep amber with little head and boring aromas of apple juice and a little bit of a herb and spice hops presence. Flavor is more English than American, and I’m cool with that (for now). It’s pretty sweet and the hops presence is fairly light and herbal/grassy. It’s pretty refreshing on the palate and finish is bitter and pleasant enough. I say "keep brewing" to you, Full Pint. If this is just a first step, it’s a pretty decent one.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 60minuteman (158) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2012
Murky amber pour with lingering white foam. Smell of hops, fruit, roast, grass, pine, caramel and honey. Smooth and medium body with lots of bitterness and a slight creaminess. Lots of roasted hops...nice staying power of hops in the palate. A complex brew. Nice.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 boxofrane (416) - pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2012
Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a finger of white head. Aroma is very thin and had some citrus.. Almost orange. Taste is lightly bitter and resembles an American pale ale more than an ipa. Alcohol is will hidden but a poor showing In the style.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 stangger (517) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 14, 2012
Notes/headache only. Strong hop aroma, probably the standard centennial/amarillo. Surprisingly light-bodied for an IPA; not especially bitter. I think it was good, though. Or maybe not. I don’t remember.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 watson1977 (1260) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2012
Pours a murky caramel color with a thick lt tan head...good lacing and retention. Aroma is musty and bready with a lt off aroma of vomit...slightly vegetal. Flavor is bitter and tea-like with some bready malty notes. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly lifeless with a very bitter earthy/dry finish. Just an awful beer...id rather drink a miller lite...it would more predictable and less offensive.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 boto (1581) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAR 30, 2012
12oz. bottle: This one pours a cloudy, somewhat orangish color. there was about a 1/2 finger of off white head. It didn’t linger long or leave much lacing. Nice blast of pine hops to the nose. A touch of grapefruit also with maybe some caramel malts lurking in there. Decent enough taste. Fairly bitter, but not overly so. Piney taste, with a decent caramel malt body behind it. Somewhat dry finish. A good IPA.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DavoleBomb (1143) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Poured into a pint glass.
4.0 A: Deeply hazed orange brownish color. One and a half fingers of off-white, creamy/frothy head. Retention is a touch above average and plenty of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Pine and grapefruit hoppiness is the strongest aroma. A touch of earthy and herbalness as well. Bready malts and yeast with a slight caramel undertone. Clean overall, especially given the yeastiness.
3.5 T: Mild bitterness. Lots of pine hop flavor. Grapefruit, earth, and herbs to follow. Orange citrus after that. Bready yeastiness. Caramel to round things off.
3.0 M: Lighter medium body. Carbonation is moderate in amount and slightly biting. Lacking creaminess for the most part.
3.5 D: Decent beer, but as far as IPAs go, this isn’t too special.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 artmcd8 (173) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Very yummy IPA. Grapefruit and citrus aromas. Amber orange pour. Full pint makes great beers. None I haven’t liked.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kramer (3457) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 6, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark copper body with a one finger fizzy white head that left some light lacing. The nose is nicely hoppy and fresh smelling with a hefty amount of Chinook. Just a bit of maltiness peeking out from under the hops. The flavor is a bit catty and too green tasting from all the Chinook though. I think that this is a hop that can use a little enhancement from another variety or two, less well suited than many varieties for single hopping. Some light caramel maltiness, especially on the finish after the slight piney hop flavor fades. Medium bodied without being sticky or cloying. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent overall, but I’m not loving it. More of a personal preference thing though vs. any kind of flaws.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JFGrind (1592) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Copper bodied citrus aroma IPA. Chinook hops are evident not overbearing. Stronger in alcohol and weaker in hop profile than I expected.

Hoppy and bitter with a hint of floralness. A tad citrusy, zesty, with an earthy pine flavor. Not a bad IPA.
