COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We hit this full bodied IPA with “nookie” four times during the brewing process to give this ale its trademark Chinook hop character. We then “dry nookied” this flavorful ale to further enhance its grapefruit and pine aroma.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Copper-golden color, a bit cloudy. Aroma is strongly of hops. Taste is REALLY hoppy - one of the hoppiest beers I ever had in my life.

Bottle from Ty's house. Nose is pure hop. Lots of hop taste. A bit of grapefruit. Overall decent but balance is questionable. ---Rated via my mouth

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid orangy deep copper with 2-finger off-white frothy well-retained head. Nose is orange marmaladey, black pepper, caramel malt. Tastes resiny, dry, with a big tropical citrus componenet, some black peppery notes, and a big malt bill. Very well made, with good complexity.

Very strong bittering and aroma hops. Strong enough back end to support the hoppiness, but I would like a little more malt personally. Great beer overall from my favorite Pennsylvania brewery.

Finally... an IPA that features chinook hops. What this beer isn’t... an aggressive American IPA. What it IS... is a great example of an IPA that is just that... an IPA. It isn’t over the top. It has a nice body, and it’s easy to drink. What is even better is the fact that it features chinook hops which you really just can’t find. The taste and aroma of chinook is awesome... yet underrated. Over the top is nice... but sometimes you just want a hop focused IPA that is way easy to drink. This is one of them. Get yo self some of these. I could drink these all night!!!

Bottle from World Wines. Very fresh (BB Dec something, 2013). Hazy copper with lasting head and lace. Woody piney citrus hops. Mild peach fruit sweetness with medium assertive woody grapefruit pine woody hop lingering grapefruit resiny finish. Nice medium body with good carbo to accentuate the hops. I don’t understand the low ratings. Excellent.

12 oz bottle. Pours a foggy golden color with a off white head. Grapefruit and Hopps dominate the aroma. Taste is a slightly bitter IPA, pleasant surprise.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 1/2014. Slight gusher upon opening. Pours hazy deep orange copper color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate malt presence; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Sizable pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice bright citrus/pine hop flavors with a light malt presence; with a fairly dry finish with no cloying bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. Good complexity of bright citrus/pine hop flavors with light malt presence; and very crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

njnut (225) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Poured from bottle into tulip glass a hazy a deep amber. Aroma was lighter than most American IPA’s mild grapefruit and malt. The taste is different than many with the grapefruit coming at the sip and getting pine late and trough the finish but it has a nice malt note that I think adds a nice smoothness and some caramel. Body is full and there is a small alcohol note in the finish but overall a nice drinker, well done
