Ok, this is simple. It smells like grandmas soap dish and tastes like grandmas soap dish. It's appearance is very nice, thick head clear and dark brown. Smells and tastes like soap. The rest of us don't want Festivus.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nate (3326) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 29, 2013
From bottle. Dusty grain, roasted barley, chocolate, and mild spices. Much like a brown ale in nose. Dark coppery brown clear but with some haze, topped with creamy light tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts medium dry with lots of roast, nutty and spicy bitterness. Some malty chocolate sweetness and light spicy character. Medium bitter hop finish with lasting bitter after.

Bottle. Pours dark red-brown thin tan head. Malt and spice aroma, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla. Mild sweet taste. Medium body, average carbonation, mild hop and spice finish. Doesn’t all come together quite right for me. Ok overall.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Wileecoyote (31) - - JAN 17, 2013
Pleasant but mild aroma, perfect dark amber color, smooth brown malts with a slightly hoppy aftertaste, little or no head, a little too flat for palate, overall good beer, will drink again but not seek out

12 oz bottle compliments of my neighbor Bob - Thanks! Disappointing in flavor and body. Thin and very weak overall. Not worth the effort.

not sure what is going on with this one. there is a weird freshly-mowed grass twang note that pops up once in the front, and then again on the palate after. bad hops, maybe? sort of a scottish ale, but with a herby note throughout. not a fan.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Buckeye780 (1) - - DEC 20, 2012 does not count
12 oz bottle. Reviewed 12/20/12. 1/2 inch white/light brown head upon pouring down center of pint glass. Quickly dissipates. Malty nose with slight hint of cinnamon, vanilla, and mild hop. Malty flavor that quickly vanishes. Very dry mouth feel (maybe due the the cinnamon, or mace as the label says is included). Slight hop bitterness lingers. Overall, a very uninspiring beer. This beer is falling into the pattern of many Christmas beers of late. White Lightning and All In Amber are much better offerings.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MrBunn (2215) - Western, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Bottle. Body is a medium brown with coppery highlights and a tan head that dies to a film of soapy bubbles after a few minutes. Aromas are mild and not that interesting. A little bit of toffee and some grassy/herbal hops are a bit intriguing as is an understated spicy edge, but it could benefit from a bit more assertiveness. Flavor is better than expected... an almost allspice direction on the spicing with some caramel/toffee coming through. I have to admit that I wasn’t sold on the description of this one... cinnamon, vanilla and simcoe just didn’t sound great, but it is a serve-able brown ale.
