3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 meb137 (6) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 8, 2013 does not count
The smell and appearance of this beer alone makes it worth the buy. I was a tad disappointed with the taste, but overall still a very solid beer and I would buy again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Tmoney99 (8768) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 10, 2013
Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to heavy chocolate bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a very good beer that exceeded my expectations.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Travlr (7942) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 8, 2013
Draft. Black color, thick brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of coffe grounds, burnt espresso, licorice. Tadte is bitter 90% cacao, espresso. Very nice.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 NikkTwist (880) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 4, 2013
Draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque pour with a pillowy brown head. Lots of lace. Strong hop notes off the top. Does not smell like a stout, but does taste like one. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Truffles (both the chocolate and fungus variety!) Charcoal. Nutella. The high hops bring in earthy, grassy, pinecone elements that could have easily not worked, but everything seems to be playing quite well together. Thick silky body. Definitely a bit different, and certainly not a proper Imperial, but quite worth having. I suspect though that this beer will not age well in the bottle.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jkwood04 (2279) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 14, 2013
12oz bottle in an English pint. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some dough, and floral hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. Bottle might be a little old, but the flavors are lacking and should have more of everything.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Daytonbeer (384) - Ohio, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Pours jet black with tan head and nice lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is the same with lots of dry hops on the back end.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 b3shine (2229) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks good; black with foamy mocha head that slowly dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells and tastes of roast, dark malt, and bitter hops with an average mouthfeel. A solid stout.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 matthewjk (730) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2013
12oz’er - This stout was too hop-forward for me. Quite dry, a bit thin as well. I did enjoy the taste, but not the variety of stout I prefer.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bluejacket74 (989) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - MAR 1, 2013
12 ounce bottle, stamp on label says best by July 2013, Lot 294. I saw "West Coast Style Stout" on the 6-pack, and that was enough for me to buy it! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with a half inch tan head that didn’t stay around for too long. There’s a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, pine and citrusy hops, and coffee. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, it tastes like roasted and burnt/charred malt, citrusy and pine hops, bittersweet and milk chocolate, and coffee. There’s also a nice lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. I like this beer, it’s a good hoppy stout. $10.99 a 6-pack.
