12 oz. bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy opaque orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank earthy hops, in a rather muffled way, with some murky malt backing. Flavour is quite pungent on the hops, with big notes of resinous and piney hops, wood, and a strong astringency. Not overly complex, with a slightly harsher-than-average astringency. Drinkable, but rather harsh and astringency. Not great.

Cloudy orange to light amber color. Resiny hops, very strong, a bit fruity, but also very buttery; the malt profile is ok, not chewy, the alcohol a bit too strong
Good brew, but unfresh.

9/28/2014: Full Pint Tri-PA... Aroma is orange-vanilla with Honeycomb cereal. Cloudy white-gold color withe a minimal white crown. The flavor starts with vanilla-caramel malt with a good level of citrus-herbal hop bitterness on top. Moderate to generous level of bitterness that helps even out the maltiness sweetness up front. The alcohol content is warming and is quite noticeable in the flavor, but not too over the top. Medium-full body, a bit milky and syrupy, but matches the alcohol content. Overall, this is a decent beer, but just too big (too much alcohol) for my current taste. I am glad that it packs a bit of a hop punch though. 12 fl. oz. bottle from bnokk. Thanks!

355 mL bottle from the brewery. Very underrated beer. This is a textbook IIPA. You cannot say that it is balanced, because there is such a high level of bitterness, but this is not a one-dimensional beer. There is a decent alt backbone to stand slightly behind the sweet, citrussy hops. Not an especially pretty beer to look at, but a lovely beer to drink.

12 oz. bottle at Natifest. Pours a clear, bright gold with a white head. Pretty straightforward - citrus fruits, florals, and sweet and pale malts. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a resinous mouthfeel that finishes dry. Not much to see here.

Bottle to taster at NatiFest. Bottle says it’s 10%. Looks good; a mostly transparent golden orange with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells sweet and malty with a fairly bitter hop profile. Tastes like it smells with a fuller-bodied mouthfeel and softer carbonation. Solid, but forgettable.

Bottle share from James, golden yellow pour, aroma is malty sweetness, some pine and tropical fruits. Taste, malty sweetness, followed by some hop bitterness, finishes a bit dry. Overall it’s a touch too sweet for me.

Transfer from BA review on 5-15-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a lightly hazed amber color with a large billowing off-white head. The head faded slowly over time to give a nice amount of lacing Smell – A nice sweet citrus aroma mixed with some caramel malt and a nice bready smell; these are the strongest aromas. With these are some lighter floral and pine aromas. Overall quite nice. Taste – The taste follow the nose very well. It starts of sweet malt and citrus. The bready backbone is initially sweet of caramel and orange hop flavors. As the taste moves on the caramel fades and the citrus changes in nature a bit. The original orange citrus hop turns more toward a bitter grapefruit flavor. At the end of the taste some light earthy and a good dose of pine come to mix with the bread and grapefruit. Overall these leave a bitter sweetness on the tongue. Mouthfeel – A super creamy body with a lower level of carbonation. The creaminess is fantastic on this brew as it coats the mouth and really allows the flavors to be experienced by the tongue. The lower carbonation only allows this to occur more and overall create a great mouthfeel. Overall – This is a nice double IPA. Its flavors aren’t as strong as some and the transitions not quite as smooth, it does have a very nice mouthfeel and smell. A good brew to try if you get the chance.
