THOUGHTS: Nearly a very hoppy barley wine. Suppressed the alcohol fairly well. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark, reddish amber with a small to average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel malt; light to moderate pine, citrus and metallic hops; brown sugar; maple syrup; and alcohol. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet and moderate to heavily bitter with and average to long duration. There was caramel, brown sugar, alcohol, pine hops, some citrus hops, more pine hops, sugar water, maple syrup and honey. The medium to full body was a bit oily and then dry with lightly fizzy carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish.

Copper color in the glass. Strong resin hop aroma. Quite bitter on the palate, but the alcohol integrates well.

Pours clear dark burnt orange color with off white head. Fruity aroma with lots of caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with bitter grapefruit and orange. Medium to full body with syrupy mouthfeel.

Orange-amber colored body, thin off-white head, sparse lacing. Fruity malts and hops--more on the malty side of things with various stone fruits and caramel coming through, as well as some sweet cereals. Medium bodied, a bit boozy, gentle carbonation, moderate bitterness, and muted finish.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/31/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, pineapple, lemon zest, orange zest/rind, pine resin, grass, floral, caramel, toffee, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Ok aromas with very harsh smelling hop presence that is a bit too vegetal; with moderate malt balance and big strength. Taste of big grapefruit, pineapple, pine resin, lemon zest, orange zest/rind, grass, floral, caramel, toffee, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine resin bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest/rind, pineapple, pine resin, caramel, toffee, bread, floral, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Ok flavor balance and complexity big pine/citrus hop flavors with moderate malt balance; with harsh and vegetal hop flavors and a fair amount of cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a slick, sticky, and resinous mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a moderate warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very mediocre double IPA. Far too much harsh and vegetal character from the hops makes this moderately unpleasant, but it was not undrinkable.

Cloudy orange colored pour. Small white head. Little bit of lacing. Big fruity, citrusy, malty, bready aroma. Caramel taste. A little too sweet. Still decent.

On tap at 3R6P. Sweet sticky hop aroma. Pineapple and candied orange. Medium golden amber clear with thin white lacing head. Starts and stays sweet with tons of juicy and fruity hop flavors - pineapple, orange, and apricot. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Delicious flavor, sweet with good hop flavor but not any harsh bitterness. Mild bitter after with sweet fruity lingering notes. Candy corn.

Would be a good home brew maybe. Lots of imperfections. Wired hop flavors. Wowed texture. Not for me.

Not really too high on this one. Thought it was syrupy and the flavor was masked too much by that. Hop profile was confused and the high alcohol really didn’t do this one any favors.

12oz bottle pours a very murky orange with some thin, white head. Nose is mostly orange and pine sap, some grapefruit, some soap, some malt, candy sugar. Flavor has a huge punch of bitter grapefruit, blood orange, lemon, very sticky pine sap, herbal soap, honey comb. Sticky, bitter finish. Heavy.

Bottle, thanks to JStax. Pours a flat caramel color with minimal head. No real lacing. The nose is sweet and citrus filled at first with a lighter floral presence. Some resin. Sweet taste is citrus and caramel malt. Not bitter at all, but has good hop flavors. Refreshing, but relatively unexciting.
