COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While our Cascade Pils is inspired by classic European pilsners, this beer is really a celebration of the fresh, local Cascade hops grown by family farmers right here in our beloved Pacific Northwest. It has intense aromas of citrus and pine, supported by a medium body and dry malty palate. As you savor that unmistakable aroma and long, clean hop finish, tip your hat (and your glass) to the generations of hop farmers who help us live the locavore dream every day. We originally brewed Cascade Pilsner as a special release to celebrate our 26th Anniversary and our Northwest hop growers. It quickly became our fastest growing Full Sail draft beer and our bestselling 22oz. bottle. With that warm consumer response we decided it deserved its own year round six-pack.

Clear gold color. Aroma of corn & lager yeast. Sips medium bodied with nice malt backbone. Very dry and hoppy bitter flavors which compliment. Total west coast pilsner version. Excellent brew.

6%ABV. Pilsner. Poured out pale gold. 4°SRM. Nose is beery with light citrus, pale malt, and light wheat aromas. Mouthfeel is watery with a carbonated soda like feel. Palate has pale malt and wheat flour with raw dough. Hops are bitter and reminiscent of old world hops. Finish is medium with an old world hop bitter. A lot of nice old world hop body. Not a lot of brightness. Maybe citrus peel. Refreshing. Not light.

Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 12 ounce bottle. Appearance: The beer pours clear medium golden color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. Aroma: strongest of a lemon smell mixed with some cracker like aromas and a little bit of a grainy smell Taste: like a very nice lager that has been hopped up. Getting a hint of a metallic taste in here, almost like a ghost of a taste. Palate: Mouth feel was a medium mouth feel with a wet taste of hops as a finish. Overall: A decent pilsner with a little bit more hop then normal. Overall a fairly refreshing and enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Looks like fizzy yellow piss with a small white head. The aroma is spicy with peppery spices and hay. The taste, like the aroma is also spicy with a good pils malt base and just a touch of corn sweetness. The palate was medium. Finished dry. Overall: Decent Piils - I’ll probably buy again.

Draught at Greenpoint Fish and Lobster on 4/15/16.
A clear, hay colored golden beer with a moderate sized white head atop that shows average retention.
Some cereal, light hints of citrus and various other cascade-induced hop notes in the nose. Rich honey and maybe a bit too much bread though no alcohol or flaw.
Sweet, bready, sluggish in the mouth, with moderately bitter hops. This is about as indelicate as you can get for a pilsner and even past the heavy honey-caramel-breadiness, the actual flavors are rather dull, stale and uninspired. Poor Full Sail, they’ve certainly seen better days.

On tap at the brewery. Pours gold with small creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is grass and citrus. Medium mouth, grass, hay, crisp, crushable, good.

12-ounce bottles in a pilsner glass. A little more bitter than most pilsners, but noticeably higher in alcohol as well. Not my favorite of its style, but good nonetheless.

Citrus, pine, resiny honey syrup, sweet malts. Tastes more lile a honey beer. Not really a pils and can’t taste the cascade hops so much. Very hazy yella with a little head. Not a bad beer and Full Sail is so likeable, I’m really bummed this beer isn’t what I thought it might be. I was hoping for a czech pils with a west coast hoppiness to it but its sweet and mildly piney. Shame.

Bottle. First impressions almost underwhelming: missing the satisfying crisp flush of a pilsner. Second impressions a little more positive: piney hop notes shine, giving this a nice west coast pilsner vibe. Still a little two malty sweet for the style & my tastes. As the beer sits the sweetness reveals more of a citrus base. Most confusing are the reviews below mine -- a crude copy & paste job directly below mine is baffling and other scores seem very high considering the dismissive written reviews. Whatever. Interesting & somewhat unique beer.
