Pours very deep amber with creamy off-white head. Smells of malt, some caramel, and cascades. Nice nutty malt with a noticeable amount of cascade flavor in the finish. Very malty without being too sweet, and the hop balance is done quite nicely.

Bottle from Beer Culture in New York September 2013. Solid amber ale that contained a fair bit of maltiness and a long finish. Deep amber with a low head.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a white head that dissipates quickly. Some hop flavors, but mostly a nice smooth malt layer. Tasty.

Nice amber, smooth drinking. Darker than typical, heavier malt nose with plenty of caramel and biscuit. Flavor follows suit, nothing atypical. Malted caramel flavors with biscuit and medium hop flavors without too much bitterness. Classically drinkable

Cheers!

A little too bitter on the after taste. Pours a clear amber color, great aroma.

Good malt base and deep copper in appearance. Malty taste with a little toastiness on the palate. Just a little bit of bittering hops to round out the taste. Overall a well balanced amber ale.

Pours a nice clear amber color with white head. Pine, floral notes, and some malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with malt.

Pours a thin head on a clear dark straw colored body. The aroma is grain with mild lemon. Nice. The taste has mild lemon bitterness with a malty backbone. Good balance. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. It’s an easy drinking and enjoyable amber.

Bottle. Weak amber. No aroma. Stale. Simply not interesting. Plain old yuengling is better.

On tap at the Yard House, Houston. A crystal clear amber colored beer with a small, creamy light beige head. The aroma is pretty malt forward, bread and caramel mostly, with some candy like notes. The flavor has some notes of dark dried fruits, but as in the aroma it’s the caramel and bread that dominates. Although it tastes quite sweet, it’s dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Full body and a lasting caramel finish. Lacking quite a bit on bitterness this one, still pretty nice. 140514
