This might just be my favorite beer from Full Sail. If not, I don’t know what is. However, I’ve not sampled the regular Black Gold, so I will make it a point to do so. This beer had a beautiful color to it, nearly perfect of what an impy stout should look like. Aroma was full-on bourbon and vanilla nose with some roasty notes coming out too. It was a bit one-dimensional but still just damned fine with me. Flavor was espresso, bourbon, vanilla, oak, malt and hops all coming together in a creamy delivery. Plus it hides the alcohol content extraordinarily well. Really an outstanding beer. Good job to Full Sail!

GABF 2006. Roasty, chocolate, oak nose. Roast, bourbon, oak, and chocolate flavor. Too much bourbon.

Full on bourbon and oak are strong up front in the aroma with notes of anis, vanilla, chocolate, chick peas and floral perfume also apparent. Clear, dark ruby brown body is topped by an anemic, large bubbled tan head that recedes rapidly to ring. Strong roasty bitterness, strong bourbon, strong alcohol flavours bludgeon the tastebuds into submission before following with a subdued chocolate sweetness with vanilla undertones. Medium full body is liquorous, sticky and syrupy. Soft textured with very low carbonation. Strong alcohol warming. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere.

#500 (2006) 22 oz. bottle via trade with Buck Dich - Pours a deep brown color with a nice tan head that settles to a thin film. Very light spotty lacing. Has a wonderful bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate aroma. The flavor is much of the same. Taste a lot like an Oaked Yeti. Medium to full body. The alcohol is noticeable, but not overpowering. An excellent beer. Thanks Jordan

Bottle via trade. Pours a deep opaque brown with reddish highlights and a thin tan head. Complex aroma with vanilla, buttery oak, cocoa, roasted malts, and coffee. The body is 22 ounces of liquid Cadbury Egg, with layers of vanilla and milk chocolate creating a candy-like palate. Also reminiscent of chocolate sugar wafers. There is an alcohol kick that reminds me that this is a 10.5% ABV beer. Truly a dessert.

Blind rating, American Beer Tastings at Sk8viking´s. Pours black with a tanned head. Smells very nice of bourbon barrel ageing. TAstes of dark malts and bourbon. Hint of mildew and age. Alcohol and bourbon finish. Very nice.

This bottled brew from JSquire at a rating party poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was roasted malt toasted malt dark malt bourbon and burnt malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong bourbon aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of vinous dark malt vanilla and bourbon. Delicious and one I would certainly like to try again.
