Got this bottle from someone that I can’t remember so I can’t appropriately thank you... thanks and sorry! Pours a opaque, black color with a very tiny tan head. Aroma is bourbon, oak and vanilla with lots of emphasis on the oak and bourbon. Flavor is very smooth and full of bourbon with a slight malt hint on the back end. Slightly hot but it works well with the beer. Very enjoyable.

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. This is really good stuff. Lots of heat to the nose, but lots of other flavors as well: rum raisin ice cream, vanilla, loads of chocolate. Big woody oaky bourbon aroma and flavor. A strong beer for people who need to accomplish great things. UPDATE: At my 2007 Impy Stout Tasting. Thanks to Nick S. for the beer. Pours black with a rich off-white head. has a big bourbon aroma. It’s like it is all bourbon! Has a thinner body. A bit unbalance and yields a serious burn. Even though this lacks enough malt for the balance, it still somehow works for me. A real showcase for the bourbon. In fact you might call this a beer-flavored bourbon. This was the 2006 vintage.

Big whiskey aroma. Some bourbon, spice, vanilla, chocolate and some chocolate. Extremely smooth for such a big beer. Very good.

Bottle thanks to the RBer formely known as wolfhs. Fridged for about an hour. Split 4 ways in a large snifter. Pours with small lacing, black with brown hues. Aroma is strong - alcoholy and oaky with some raison and chocolate. Taste is too alchy with chocolate aftetaste. A good deal of bitterness. Slightly oily mouthfeel. This bourbon thing is starting to get old.

Thanks to SecretSanta for this one! This beer is amazing. Huge chocolate and toffee in the flavor as well as a perfect amount of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. The smell is predominately the bourbon with a little vanilla or oak. The mouthfeel of this beeris super thick and creamy. I let a friend try it (who is not really into beer) but alas he said he thought it tasted and felt like melted hersey choclate bars. Thats a hell of a beer! I loved this stuff, now I have to figure out how to get more.

Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and full of vailla bourbon notes, with some raison and a little coffee. Still a little hot. Full bodied, dry and warming.

Drk ruby pour with a thin light brown head. Good complex aroma of fruity esters, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon and oak. The flavor is dominated by bitterness with some sweetness, again bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt and oak are present. The body has a light to medium thickness with an oily texture and low carbonation. A good, complex imperial stout, well done.

Pour is black with a thin tan head...smell is roasty and sweet, but nothing too interesting or amazing about it...smells like most generic impy stouts...taste is weak...slightly sweet and roasty, but nothing really interesting either...the base beer for this is not good either, so how on earth some time in a barrel will improve it is beyond me.
