3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours thick and quiet with little head. Sweet fruit and bubblegum with some banana, cocoa and tar. Super slick on the palate finishing with a long bitterness. Chocolate banana flavor with some roasted grain astringency. Distinct flavor combo.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with good head. I love stouts and this was a good stout so I loved it. Would like to have one again if it was given to me free like this one was.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
RBSG DC 2006: Clear black-brown (when held to a bright light), medium tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, fruity hops, and light licorice. Taste is an almost sour-like chocolate, licorice, spice, sweet sugar cane, and earth.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with small head. Dominated by fusel alcohol in the taste and aroma. Coffee, chocolate and dark fruit try to come through, but this is just way too harsh. Hopefully a year in bourbon casks will turn it into a gem again. Bitter finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bomber thanks to hey_kevin. wow! this is a nice surprise. I let this bottle sit out for about 10 -15 minutes before I opened it up and it was the right thing to do. roarty malt aroma with some bittersweet chocolate, coffee and alcohol. color is a deep dark brown with a small tan head that settles down to swirls of lace chasing around on the top of the ale. mild flavors of the aforementioned choc/coffee/alcohol with other hints of dark fruit and earthy oak. hop bitterness on the end is present but is in nice balance to the mild flavors up front. the mouthfeel is a little thin yet it has a buttery smoothness to it. I’m a little surprised by the low average rating this one has received! IMO, under-rated.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
RIch and dark burnt malt backbone. Deep chocolate with strong wooded highlights. Some deep roasted coffee beans, somewhat vanilla and mossy. Grassy hops with slight citrus presence. Really well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Wow, this is really dark, no light esacping here with a small tan head. You can really pick up a lot of heat from the alcohol here, coffeecake sweetness mixed with some choclate and vanilla icing. This is really not bad, but lacks balance and body. Looking forward to the bourbon barrel version.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to SNOB for the bottle. Medium sized dark tan foamy head. Slightly phenolic aroma with slight alcohol and banana undertones. Some roastiness, with a clashing hop spiciness. Alcohol and residual spicy hop character dominate the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample on tap at PIB. Pours a solid black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of molasses, dark fruits, dark chocolate, lightly smoked wood, bourbon. Flavour of dark fruity sweetness, coffee, molasses, butterscotch and oak. Cloying. Too sweet and boozy.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
My roomates stumbled upon a bottle of this in Glacier, WA of all places. Deeply infused with esspresso, this stout seems to take on a slightly thin/astringent character, although it gets better with warmth. The smoke comes through as well as some dark chocolate. The alchohol is there but all but buried under all that coffee. This definitely could use some time to mellow out, but with some roundness it could really be another excellent Full Sail.
