a.k.a. Chrisís Summer Delight, an unfiltered, refreshingly tart small batch beer conceived by our own Chris Haveman from 50% wheat malt and just a touch of Hersbrucker hops.

22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a clear, delicate golden-hued body with an inch-plus head of white foam.

Smell: Cereal grains and wheat soaked leisurely in sour lemon juices with a yogurt-esque lactic hint enveloping it.

Taste: A touch of sweetened grains, then a lemony, citrusy twang pops on the tongue. Light vegetal tones. The lactic quality is there, but itís pretty mild not quite allowing for a full-on pucker (or even a near-pucker grimace). Some minerals and more of the mild lactic character on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: I found it to be both pleasant and quite refreshing, which was what I was looking for in this beer.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2012 Bottle - Pours light amber with a thin film of light tan head. Nose is sour wheat, not very tart, with hints of lemon. Taste is pretty dry and minerally, with a light sour wheat tang and a sheen of citrus on the finish. A bit watery, and well-carbonated. The definition of meh, and bummed that this wasnít good. A $4.99 bomber of berliner weisse is something I donít see every day.

Bottle $4.99. Clear golden pour with a white head. Taste is only lightly tart with some lemon rind, touch of grainy sweetness. Mild dry finish. This was certainly refreshing s close to being good, but doesnít quite hit the mark. Quite refreshing but not anything to go nuts over.

Keg @ Washington Commons, Brooklyn. Pours hazy gold with a big white head. The nose is lightly tart sweet lemon and honey. Simple. The taste is very crisp light citrus, lemon rind. Tart. Some spring water, a bit of wheat and white grape. Light body, active carbonation. Overall, corker of a summer beer. Very easy to drink. This definitely went down well in 90 degree weather!

650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, short duration, white head, over slightly hazy dark yellow (SRM 4) body...........nose is light acid, slight lemon, hints of wheat cereal, toast.....taste is light sour, hints of citrus, finishing sour.....mouth feel light, carbonation adds fizzy qualities. This is a light refreshing beer. It meets the style, but not totally. Iíd like a bit more acid kick. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7

22 oz bomber from Spirits Crossroads shared at the golf outing. Poured a dense gold yellow with not much carbonation and a creamy white head. Aroma of light sourness, wet malts, copper. Medium carbonation over a medium to fuller body that finishes almost syrupy. Flavor is the same ad the aroma with light sourness that turns to set malts and finishes with a metallic tinge. This needs to be thinner, more sour or both.

Clear amber yellow with a two finger head quick dissipation. Smell tart acidic, vomit. Taste crisp tart acidic, it reminds me of stomach acid...

Fizzy gold with a light haze - head almost completely diminishes - nose is moderate wheat, light lactic acid, some bready/yeast notes - flavor is crisp and moderately acidic - some sour apple and light white vinegar notes - a bit of dry wheat and dusty yeast on the tail end - simple - somewhat refreshing, but there is a sharpness to the acidity on the end that makes it a touch hard to enjoy that much. (edit - second half of the bottle brings a lot more yeast into the pour, which cuts the acidity significantly - still a bit watery in flavor overall, but not too bad.
