a.k.a. Chris’s Summer Delight, an unfiltered, refreshingly tart small batch beer conceived by our own Chris Haveman from 50% wheat malt and just a touch of Hersbrucker hops.

Unexpectedly found on tap at the Greenwich Village Bistro. This is a nice surprise from full Sail. Light sour apple and chablis aroma. The taste is along the same lines - green apple, sorghum, wheat. Good Berliner.

Sweet tangy aromas. Pours a brilliant golden with a dense thin white head decent lacing. Refreshing soft with a touch lemon, grass and tang/tart in the back end wish this was in cans during the summer

Draft at Mudville 9 NYC. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a nice wheaty flavor of pine, salt and lemon. Decent easy drinking beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Appearance: small white head that diminishes quickly, cloudy, straw color, ok lacing. Aroma: yeasty, pear, apple, bread, vinegar. Palate: light body, lively carbonation, light fruity texture. Taste: fruity sweetness, tart throughout taste. Overall, refreshing on a hot day maybe, but nothing I would pick up again. Almost tasted like a soft pear cider.

Funky aroma. Tart and funky, with wheat flavours and lemon. Definitely light and refreshing. Nice change of pace for a summer beer.

Purely average. Pours an ugly yellow, like Budweiser. Smells of lemon. More lemon in the taste, but that's about it. Paired with tuna ceviche, the pairing brings out the dryness and hoppiness. Had in the bottle for New Years 2014. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This pale yellow beer has a lemony aroma and a very strong lemon flavor. Mild wheaty flavors come through also. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

7/18/2012. On tap at the brewery labeled as Chris’ Summer D-lite. Poured yellow with a white head. Tart, yeasty aromas with light malt and fruit. Not a fan of the style.

Not a huge fan. Getting no malt in aroma. Skunky lemon tart grass. Light, well carbonated.

Best by 17SEP12 Really surprised to see this beer from this brewery. Figured Widmer would have taken the front in the geography (and slaughtered the style). Pours a delicate light yellow with the slightest diaphanous overcast. Fleeting foam atypical of the style. Smells of wheat, co2, lemon must, hay and some hints of lactic acid. Light and crisp smelling. Lightly tart with a wheaty sweetness and finishing corn flavors. The tartness is upfront and surprisingly transient. The finish is longer than I had anticipated with grain and grass with a hint of dry tartness (like I just swallowed some plain yogurt). A little heavy for the style with moderate carb and a wet finish. Clocking in at 4%, this is on the low end for US Berliner’s, but the high end for Berlin. I like this version, although I’m guessing it isn’t natural lacto, nor is there any Brett, so the beer really does merit a "best by". Nonetheless, I’m not put out by the offering. Certainly worth the $5 I paid. Serving type: bottle 06-25-2012
