COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As a daddy-to-be and a recent graduate of Oregon State Universitys Brewing Sciences program, Jason celebrates his inner college student and his soon-to-be new station in life with Big Daddy J. According to Jason, BDJ is a malt liquor that is simple and delicious. Its golden in color and hopped with Hallertau Hersbrucker hops, perfectly balanced so that its clean and drinkable smoothness makes that 8 percent alcohol go down so easily. Full Sails Brewers Share beers will only be available on tap at Full Sails Tasting Room and Pub in Hood River, Oregon, and at Full Sails Brewery at Riverplace, in Portland, Oregon.

I love it when craft breweries tackle malt liquor and though this isn’t my favorite Brewers Share offering. This clear orange beer is quite complex with a lingering aftertaste. Not much aroma but a nice imperial pils like taste profile.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours amber gold with a big frothy white head and champagne bubbles. Aroma is heavy malt with some noble/earthy hop. Med body. Frothy carb. Flavor is heavy malt, tends to be a bit heavy on sweet, but there’s some earthy/herby hop that tends to cut that way down. It might fairly be described as trying to head towards dry, and there is some bitter. Way better that what’s in most of those 24 oz cans.

Bottle at Dadtoberfest ’12. Pours gold with a white head. Grainy malts, a hint of wheat, a hint of sweetness, andddd not much else. Nothing off or dirty or anything. I steal this all the time from Dad’s fridge when me and my friends have girls over and we’re trying to get weird. When dad catches me he isn’t happy.

Tap... A pale golden/straw pour with a fizzy white head. Yup malt liquor. Well, along those strides but didn’t have the intense sweetness often found in the style. Bready malts, mild hint of booze, grassy tones too.

pours a clear pale golden straw with a small off-white head, and good lacing that goes away as you drink. smell is faint, of malt, a touch of citrus, a little sweet and some grain. taste is thick, malty, cereal, grain, a touch of caramel, and a little bit of hops. ends oily and a bit sweet. better than your fathers malt liquor but still not worth repeating.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma of grain, hints of citrus. Flavor is much the same with a light sweetness and a bit of toast. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Overall, I liked it.

Pours a very gently hazed gold with a thin to medium white head. Tons of grain on the nose, only thing keeping it remotely palatable is the apricot Jelly Belly jelly beans that I matched up with it. Medium bodied, grainy, empty aside from the grain. A touch of empty sweet malt, grain, toast, caramel, grain. Empty overall, not much going on. Nothing horrible, but nothing worth drinking.

Bottle, orange colored pour with some lacy foam, pretty decent ml, has some good sweaty hops with a taste of ripe fruits

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours clear golden with a modest white head and a fruity yeast aroma. There is a thick caramel malt flavor with a funky rather bitter finish. Not really clean and drinkable as advertised.
