Bottle from Sprout’s: Poured a dark tea brown color topped with a thick layer of frothy head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and toffee like malts but also catch a whiff of cereal as well. The drink comes across nicely balanced with firm backing of sweet syrupy malts that suggest caramel and burnt sugar while also delivering a gentle usage of hops. Finish leaves behind a taste of green tea.

650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a copper color with a medium off-white head that has fair retention and shows some minor lacing. The aroma is soft with sweet malts, pecans and a bit o’ brown sugar. The taste is similar to the nose with earthy bitter nuts, semi-sweet grains, mild spices and a brown sugar character(but without any real sweetness). The palate is on the lighter side, but seems appropriate for this beer and the carbonation is soft. The finish is medium in duration, very dry, and leaves an aftertaste of bitter walnuts. Overall: Very interesting, and very good, me like.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a slightly transparent yet has a hazy brown/amber coloring. Nice one finger frothy creamy white head. The smell had sweet German malts delicately balanced into a decent smoky meaty quality. The taste was sweet and slightly meaty and adds a decent breadiness as it warms, and has exactly the same aftertaste, but the finish is a bit drier. On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium, good carbonation for the Altbier style and good for me as there’s a decent harshness that typically felt in altbiers, also there’s a decent sessionable quality to this as well. Overall, whoah, Full Sail, where did this come from, as I think I just found my favorite altbier by an American brewer as I would definitely love to come back to this.

Bottle. Thanks to adnielsen for the bottle. Pours an reddish brown color with off white head. Bready, caramel, nutty aromas. Flavor is strongly toasty and caramel with some nuttiness. Alts are one of my favorite styles, and I enjoyed trying this one.

Clear reddish amber with a small, sudsy beige head. Moderate lacing. Aroma mild, but really bready, with some caramel and grassy hops. Nicely flavored, well balanced; malty but not sweet or even fruity, with a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied, a little dry, very easy drinking.

crazyvin (1940) - New York, USA - JUL 8, 2014
A clear copper body with a thin white head that had excellent retention. Lacing was decent. Aroma had a nice caramel malt presence initially. Some fruit notes and a slight spicy hop note. Flavor was mostly sweet from the caramel malts. A nice estery fruitiness to it. Mild noble hops. Light on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Trev (1936) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Bomber: Pour is mahogany brown with copper highlights and a thick off white head. aroma is sweet caramel and dusty vienna malt. light woody hop. flavour is pronouncedly sweet though not overpoweringly. Strong caramel and and toffee blend with toasted malt, nutty and woody tones and a floral earthy bitterness lingers in the finish masking the sweetness. All round decent and drinkable.
