3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very malty aroma, clear amber in color with small silky head. This is one of my favorite German styles, but I find the American varieties lacking. This is decent but doesn’t have the alcohol kick or smooth flavor of Bavaria.

Pours a dark brown, with a decent amount of head. Malty, not that much sweetness when it hits he palate. It’s good; not great.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Garnet, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Biscuity nose, light caramel, pale breadiness.
Similar tongue.   Slightly soapy, not all that wheaty like.   Seems like an OK Bock, but outside of that
simply a very biscuity beer.   Seems like an Uber Oktoberfest.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Strong
biscuit and breadiness on the finish.   Not like any Weizenbock that I have had, but tastes an aweful lot like a big
Vienna or big Marzen.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber bottle. Aroma is dark and sweet. Appearance is a dark brown with little head. Taste a dark malt flavor that turns a little dry towards the end. Palate is dry with loads of carbonation. Overall, a decent weizenbock. Would buy again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottles from Blue Dog Lansdale and Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, corn flakes, nuts, mild cacao, spice. Tastes of earthy caramel malt, munich malt, corn flakes, nuts, mild cacao, hops, and a medium palate heft in the finish. This one was decent, not great.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, from Party Town. Shared with Anthony. Enjoy by: August 2013. Number: 47-A 8149. Clear light brown / orange color. Bigger body. Head fades to minimal. Lighter, kind of soft / crisp carbonation, more dry finish. Maltier (and darker) than expected. Seems to be more on the latter end of the weizen-doppelbock spectrum. Dark fruit and toasty malts. Some banana and esters. Hint of citrus to it (grapefruity). Enjoyable weizenbock. Anthony really enjoyed it. I think it may be a little past it’s prime, though, possibly oxidized. Would probably be worlds better straight off a tap.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bomber of let down. Poured a clear reddish deep orange body with a smaller silky beige head. Aroma of nut shells, wet brown bread, earth, raisins, prunes, plums, dates, dough. Body is solid, medium to fuller mouthfeel, average carbonation and a chewy creamy finish. Flavor is a step back from the aroma, nuts, brown bread dough, some dates and prunes along with a bitter brush with burnt banana peel and some tobacco spit. Overall I was let down by this one although it’s drinkable I was expecting more.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
22oz bottle. Reddish brown color. Tan colored foam. Aroma of mixed berries, sweet malts, toasted grains, hint if puffed wheat cereal. Sweet malt flavor. Some dark fruit sugar. Tastes & finishes like a Belgian Dubbel. This beer seems to be missing the banana clove flavors. It may be the yeast strain. Not at all what I’d expect for a WeizenBock. (3730)
