Bottle @ home picked at up 287 Liquor Fort Collins. Pours a clear, somewhat light, reddish orange appearance with a small cream colored head. Nutty, dull toasty malty, caramel aroma - doesn’t smell like a wheat beer. Toffee, nutty, caramel, burnt sugary, a bit fruity, somewhat spicy flavor. Weizen Bock + Full Sail? I was really hoping this would be a winner and while it’s not bad, it’s really doesn’t taste or look anything like a Weizen Bock.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of raisin, toffee, earth, wheat, dark malts. The taste is raisin, dark fruits, caramel, toffee, chocolate, wheat, tinny hops. Thin-medium bodied. Okay.

Bottles from Blue Dog Lansdale and Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. Pours copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, corn flakes, nuts, mild cacao, spice. Tastes of earthy caramel malt, munich malt, corn flakes, nuts, mild cacao, hops, and a medium palate heft in the finish. This one was decent, not great.

22oz bottle, from Party Town. Shared with Anthony. Enjoy by: August 2013. Number: 47-A 8149. Clear light brown / orange color. Bigger body. Head fades to minimal. Lighter, kind of soft / crisp carbonation, more dry finish. Maltier (and darker) than expected. Seems to be more on the latter end of the weizen-doppelbock spectrum. Dark fruit and toasty malts. Some banana and esters. Hint of citrus to it (grapefruity). Enjoyable weizenbock. Anthony really enjoyed it. I think it may be a little past it’s prime, though, possibly oxidized. Would probably be worlds better straight off a tap.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark copper color with a small white head. A big spicy fruity nose. The dominant flavor here is crisp sweet malts, dry leaves, some grapes, a bit of toffee and caramel. Pretty mellow despite the ABV. This is the kind of beer I’d like on cask. Anyway, pretty good. Cool label.

Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Light malty sweetness, wheat, and a hint of fruity sweetness. A touch on the bland side for the style, with a clean malty finish. Solid.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (grain, caramel, husks), lightly hoppy (apricot), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of apple, grape bubble gum, cotton candy, cinnamon, paint. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium to full body, syrupy/watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Wow, just terrible. Seemingly brewed by someone who has never actually had a Weizenbock or been to Germany. Drain pour.

Bottle:   Garnet, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Biscuity nose, light caramel, pale breadiness.   Similar tongue.   Slightly soapy, not all that wheaty like.   Seems like an OK Bock, but outside of that simply a very biscuity beer.   Seems like an Uber Oktoberfest.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Strong biscuit and breadiness on the finish.   Not like any Weizenbock that I have had, but tastes an aweful lot like a big Vienna or big Marzen.
