New for 2011, this Imperial IPA’s full malt body is elevated by the loads of hop flavor and bitterness. Copious amounts of Citra, Chinook, Columbus, Cascade and Centennial hops are used to give this beer a wonderful aroma of orange zest and lemon. This fruitiness from the hops is complimented by a nice caramel biscuit malt flavor from the pale and crystal malts and finishes balanced with a slight hop kick. This beer was dry hopped for your enjoyment. Available in 22oz Bottles and Draught ABV 7.5% IBUs: 80

Bomber. This is a good IPA bit not a great one. The hop bittering is uneven and i would like more malt back bone.

8/13/2011: Full Sail Elevation IPA... Aroma: Tangerine, grapefruit, and some pine. Appearance: Amber color that looks kind of dull; small, frothy crown. Flavor: Toffee maltiness and a medium bitterness; "beer-y" finish with some grapefruit and resin hoppiness; lots of various citrus peels and a bit herbal as well; more malty than bitter. Palate: Average. Overall: Decent; easily drinkable.

Draught at Pike Pub & Brewery in Seattle, WA. Rating #141 for this beer.

Nicely balanced for an Imperial IPA. Some great nectarine-ish flavor. Strong but pleasant bitterness. A little caramel and grainy malt flavor; it’s mostly subdued, though.

Bottle (22 oz.) Pours a darker orange/caramel color, thin tan head. Smells of sweet citrus, piney. Taste is smooth with citrus, woody, almost sappy flavor. Very hoppy finish with a lingering flavor. Overall very good IIPA, will definitely go out of my way to try this again.
