New for 2011, this Imperial IPA’s full malt body is elevated by the loads of hop flavor and bitterness. Copious amounts of Citra, Chinook, Columbus, Cascade and Centennial hops are used to give this beer a wonderful aroma of orange zest and lemon. This fruitiness from the hops is complimented by a nice caramel biscuit malt flavor from the pale and crystal malts and finishes balanced with a slight hop kick. This beer was dry hopped for your enjoyment. Available in 22oz Bottles and Draught ABV 7.5% IBUs: 80

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2011 What a great surprise from Full Sail. Beautiful orange color and with flavor to match. The orange and lemon really shine, but are perfectly matched by the 5 different hops. Nose is ok. Palate is great - fruity sweet up front and bitter as hell on the back. This may be one of the best "Summer IPA’s" I’ve ever had. I opened this intending on sharing, but I think I might just drink the whole bomber right now.

22oz bottle pours a clear, copper amber with a creamy, white head. Nose is a little mild for a double IPA, grapefruit, a little malt, a little lemon zest. Flavor is orange, grapefruit, a little caramel, light lemon. Full bodied, lightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Rusty amber with a moderate, fizzy white head. Aroma is hoppy but not the hop bomb I was expecting. Tropical fruit, mango, peach, caramel, light grapefruit and sweet malt in the nose. Taste is big tropical fruit, soft pine, grapefruit juice, peach, sweet malt, soft caramel and melon. Body is medium with soft carbonation and a slight syrupyness to it. Finishes with more tropical fruit, floral hops, pine, grapefruit, melon, caramel, herbal hops and sweet malt.
