New for 2011, this Imperial IPA’s full malt body is elevated by the loads of hop flavor and bitterness. Copious amounts of Citra, Chinook, Columbus, Cascade and Centennial hops are used to give this beer a wonderful aroma of orange zest and lemon. This fruitiness from the hops is complimented by a nice caramel biscuit malt flavor from the pale and crystal malts and finishes balanced with a slight hop kick. This beer was dry hopped for your enjoyment. Available in 22oz Bottles and Draught ABV 7.5% IBUs: 80

Bottle @ home. Ruby orange distance with a creamy tan head. Slightly spicy, lightly fruity, mildly hoppy nose. Well carbonated, mildly hoppy, moderately bitter, earthy, weird flavor. Not very good.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear orange copper with a small off white head diminishing quickly to nothing. The aroma is a floral hop and pine. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet hop and caramel with a nice light bitter finish. A very good IIPA from Full Sail.

Bottle, shared with JJ. Medium orange amber, modest off-white head. Aroma is ripe papaya, melon, sweet. Flavours are much the same, with sweet soft tropical fruits filling the palate, ending with grapefruit peel bitterness. Very sweet malty body. Not sure why this doesn’t get higher ratings-- its sweet but good.

Clear golden pour topped by a thick sticky white head. The aroma is slightly dank with a touch of soft citrus as well. Significant malt aroma underneath but the hops definitely dominate. A bit of caramel malt through the middle. A little bit of zesty spiciness in addition to the light citrus notes. A little bit of pine as well, but this is a light backnote. The citra is definitely there in the aroma, but the flavour leans more toward orange. It’s a tasty brew, but something about the hop mix in this one doesn’t quite work for me.

On sale for $3.40, so figured I’d give it a try. Pours clear orange red with nice lacing white head, aroma has notes of grass, caramel, citrus notes with tangerine, grapefruit, some slight biscuit. Taste is fairly clean, with notes of tangerine and orange, some grass and pine notes, touch of biscuit and caramel, finishing bitter and dry. Not bad!
