COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New for 2011, this Imperial IPA’s full malt body is elevated by the loads of hop flavor and bitterness. Copious amounts of Citra, Chinook, Columbus, Cascade and Centennial hops are used to give this beer a wonderful aroma of orange zest and lemon. This fruitiness from the hops is complimented by a nice caramel biscuit malt flavor from the pale and crystal malts and finishes balanced with a slight hop kick. This beer was dry hopped for your enjoyment. Available in 22oz Bottles and Draught ABV 7.5% IBUs: 80

22 oz bottle. Hazy orange amber with a small head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, flowers and a bit of cat pee. Flavor is lots of bitter PacNW hops with a toasty malt presence just for balance. Medium body with average carbonation and a dryish, clean, long, bitter finish. Great IPA, loads of hop character, very easy drinking.

Bottle (22 oz.) Pours a darker orange/caramel color, thin tan head. Smells of sweet citrus, piney. Taste is smooth with citrus, woody, almost sappy flavor. Very hoppy finish with a lingering flavor. Overall very good IIPA, will definitely go out of my way to try this again.

Hazy golden amber with a thin tan head. Odd aroma of grains, grapefruit, caramel and malt. Taste of caramel, citrus and floral hops, alcohol and sweet malt. Finishes up bitter with mild warming and vinous notes.

Bottle. Textbook visuals for an IIPA -- deep, brooding orange-reddish-brown, with an active appeal and a frothy, bubbly head. The aroma is simply kick-butt ... thick like lacquer with rich, oily hops. Drinking this is akin to chewing on a sappy fir branch ... sticky, earthen, dirty, and rife with flavor. Roll out some cheese, light the fire, and enjoy. (#4533, 3/23/2012)

Bottle [22oz]. Pours a murky copper-gold with a small frothy white head. Nice aroma of citrusy hops, resiny and piney as well, along with biscuity caramel malt, some light honey sweetness, tropical fruit and a hint of alcohol. Flavour of caramel malt and resiny, citrusy hops is well balanced for the style, along with tropical fruit, some alcohol, wood and an average (for the style) bitter finish. Average bodied. Quite good, I enjoyed it and easily drank a bomber of it. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

The nose is very floral and grassy with a mild sugary sweetness. The taste starts with citrusy grapefruit up front, floral and perfumey hops take over coming in behind the initial citrus hit. Smoothing sugary sweetness underneath the hops and into the finish.

ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Clear gold beer, good off white head. Light palate, semi dry. Nice hops, full on but not aggressive. Marmalade citrus - orange, tangerine. Floral notes. Nice bitterness, not too much. Semi dry finish with a little aniseed alcohol and bitter marmalade. Nice.

Bottle: Light bronze color with a modest, creamy sand colored head. Mostly florals in the aroma with light citrus. Tastes dry and earthy; grassey, florals, and seemingly bits of rye prior to a heavy malt backbone. Dry and just short of what I’d consider a ’rough’ finish. Ok, but not really what I like in an IPA.

Westmeister (590) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 27, 2012
22oz bottle. Color is unclear pale gold with good carbonation and a medium white head. Aroma is citrus, lemon and orange up front and then a some caramel in the back. Flavor is a citrus of more orange and grapefruit with a touch of caramel and mild bitterness. Certainly on the tame side of an IIPA, but very light and nice. And the price certainly is right.

Poured from a bomber. Transparent copper with a hearty head. The nose shows grapefruit and malty aromatics. Rich, yet bitter palate. Great length.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 22 oz bomber. Pours a slightly murky dark orange with a snow-white fluffy head. Hoppy, sprucey aroma with a piney twist. Flavor was initially bland but brightens up as it warms. Decent bittersweet citrus notes, some biscuit like maltiness, a touch of maple syrup. Mouthfeel is thick enough, decent amount of spritz to keep it interesting.
