Pours a clear copper orange with a large, forthy, and well-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly toasty English malts and lots of earthy, mildly citric English hops. Body starts with a mild grainy earthy maltiness with a touch of lemon rind before a slightly more bitter dull finish. There’s a little too much citrus hop character and not enough sweetness for my liking.

Bomber from 2006. Clear amber body, small tan head. Dry caramelly aroma with a hint of grassy hops. Quite bitter flavor that starts with resinous plant stem, lemon rind and grass clippings leading to a basic dry carmel backing. The finish has a resinous sappy plant stem thing going on. Big bitter hop flavor but it’s not all that interesting. If you’re into bitter beers then this is your bag.

Decent and drinkable, but not what I was looking for. This has a lot more fruitiness than I was expecting, with a really light caramel malt body, I just don’t feel the hop profile really matches everything else in the beer. Light sweet fruits, mixed with a sharp citrus hop bitterness.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit, flowers), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not a whole lot of aroma, and what’s there is pretty simple and hop-centric. Citric bite in the mouth, as expected. Not bad, but not terribly interesting either. Just another hoppy pale ale from Full Sail.

Bottle listed as Equinox Brewmasters Reserve. Not sure what made it part of the Brewmasters Reserve, but I really didn’t think much of the beer overall.

An aroma dominated by a soapy character that was pretty overwhelming that it just stepped on anything else that the beer was trying to give. Oxidation in the flavor with some offset earthy hops and some old malt flavor. This just didn’t ring my bell at all, and usually Full Sail beers are pretty tasty.

22oz bottle from Bev Mo La Mesa. Pours a light orange color with an off white head. Aroma of light hops, some citrus........a bit flowery as well.

Bottle... Clear, golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Herbal, citrusy nose. Leans on the bitter side of balance with notes of grapefruit rind and tangy notes of lemon peel. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Bitter, astringent finish. Thanks to Argo0 for sharing.

BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 3, 2006
Bottle: Amber color, thin head, lots of lacing. Nose of tangy malt, underhopped, lightly tart. Not that good. The flavor is thin, no good malt or hop notes, just boring. Light toast or something. Ho-hum.

Pailhead (3447) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2006
Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. The aroma is of dirty wash clothes and flowerys. IT pours a bright transparent orange with a moderate white head that lasts a minute or so. The flavor starts lightly sweet but quickly becomes very floral with moderate oxidized hops, light citrus, and caramel.

Beer pours a clear, medium copper-brown color with a small, white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head. Aroma is a lot like an IPA: Moderately sweet and malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie and caramel; Moderately hoppy with notes of resin/pine, lemon zest and herbs; trace yeast note of damp basement. The flavor is moderately sweet, heavily bitter, lightly acidic with a long, moderately bitter finish with bready retros. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively. In closing, I didn’t much care for the species of bitter found in this brew. It’s the kind of bitter you might get after chewing on a grapefruit rind—it’s grippy, long-lasting, and not nice at all.
