BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2003 Updated: Aug 18, 2003Clear cider color appearance, no head or lacing, poor. Also this is very filtered which most wheat’s should not be. Aroma is that of an American wheat, light processed hop and grapefruit aroma. Flavor is sour, sweet and hoppy, not too much wheat detectable. Finishes dry and tart, very average.
This is a weird American wheat style but it has the basics covered, good for them, I'm not having this one again.
Ernest (4254), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 19, 2003 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is moderately hoppy (pine, resin, grapefruit), lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, modeately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The hoppiest American Wheat I've ever encountered, to the point that this isn't really an American Wheat anymore. This is an APA. Not lacking in aroma or flavor, mind you, but these aren't my kind of hops and it's not the way I would choose for an admittedly offbeat take on the style to set itself apart from the pack. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Jun 18, 2003 Deep gold color. Medium head. Aroma is fruity and a touch sweet. A medium bodied wheat. Wheats are very evident in this beer, but they are balanced by some very citrusy hops. Lighter taste, but still has some flavor. Light and refreshing. Very drinkable. A nice summer seasonal from Full Sail. Well balanced. Smooth taste. A great summer beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 28, 2003 Updated: Jul 29, 2003A very average wheat beer. I did not expect much and therfore I was not disappointed. This is one of those beers that makes me say eh...
Very boring and average for an american wheat. Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Aug 15, 2003 The beer pours a pellucid golden amber color, the head minimal; frothy in texture and it vanishes quite quickly leaving a thin sheet of lace to cover the glass. Nose is citrus crisp, clean and fresh, somewhat sweet as is the start that is also thickly malt; top is skinny in its feel to the palate. Finish is sprightly acidic and the hops pleasant enough in their spicy presence, dry lingering aftertaste, and a nice drinkable beer, not great, but drinkable nonetheless.
