COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the sun rises earlier and stays out longer, we celebrate the coming of spring and the sprouting of this year’s hop crop with a new beer in our Brewmaster Reserve line-up. Hop Pursuit is a crisp, orange blonde extra pale ale with a medium malt body that’s chased by a ton of hop flavor and zing of bitterness. We brewed it with the less aggressive, old school craft brewing hops– Cascade, Willamette, and Mt. Hood– to celebrate more of the hop flavor and less of the hop bitterness. These give the beer a nice and fresh citrus herbal character without a lot of intensity; instead it has a softly flavorful character with touches of orange and lemon. We dry hopped for two weeks to amplify these delicate hop flavors. Available in 22oz. bottles and draught. ABV 6% IBU 55

Bomber. citrus, pale, orange, not much head at all. Decent beer but I might not purchase again. If I did it would be because I was feeling cheap. This beer is average but a good value if anything.

Tough to drink this one without thinking of Roscoe P Coltraine from the Dukes of Hazzard who would always be in Hot (Hop) Pursuit of the Duke boys. Golden amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is hoppy enough with floral and citrus hops and some caramel beneath it. Taste is inline with aroma and finishes up moderately bitter. Kew kew kew, flash.

The theme tonight is bottles with green labels apparently. Green meaning the color green, not environmentally conscious. Hop Pursuit is your typical PAC hoppy beer. It has a bit of "skunkiness" to it, and it goes down rough. I’ll take it though, I’d prefer a rugged dirty beer to a hipster IPA any day.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2011 Nice yeasty, bready, hoppy aroma. Pours fairly cloudy, reminding me a lot of a hefeweizen. Taste is good, medium amount of hop. Head is pretty uniform. Creamy texture with medium carbonation. Finishes fqirly quickly. Overall, a nice offering.

Bottle:   Translucent Amber, a little fiery, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing, little to no carbonation.   Soft floral hop nose, a little bit of pine or spruce.   Light hop flavor up front, lingers for a bit but then dimishes.   This too is a fairly light Pale Ale.   Clean, flavorful up front but fades quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Pretty good if you want a lighter example Pale Ale.   Great for summer sessions.   Otherwise, not a hefty/hoppy Pale Ale.

Golden color, sweet malty smell with a slight hop aroma too. Great bitter pale ale with a good malt and hop flavor.

THOUGHTS: At first I didn’t think this was my cup of tea, but it actually grew on me quite quickly. Tons and tons of flavor for a relatively low ABV beer. They weren’t my favorite beer flavors, but they definitely weren’t my least favorite. I guess the best way I can describe this beer is that the flavors run a little wild and are rough around the edges. A little more focus would help this one. A little bit British. It could use a little more balance. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, medium to dark, brownish orange that kind of reminded me of rusty water with a large, off-white head that mostly, but slowly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel and toasted malts; moderate to heavy herbal and lemon hops; orange creamsicle; tea; and slight lemon meringue pie. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet, moderate to heavily acidic and moderate to heavily bitter with a long duration. There was caramel malt, lemon and pine hops, some grapefruit hops, tea, metallic hos, orange hops, toasted malt and herbal hops. The medium to full body was sort of creamy and then a little dry with fairly fizzy carbonation and a metallic and lightly dry finish.
