COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the sun rises earlier and stays out longer, we celebrate the coming of spring and the sprouting of this year’s hop crop with a new beer in our Brewmaster Reserve line-up. Hop Pursuit is a crisp, orange blonde extra pale ale with a medium malt body that’s chased by a ton of hop flavor and zing of bitterness. We brewed it with the less aggressive, old school craft brewing hops– Cascade, Willamette, and Mt. Hood– to celebrate more of the hop flavor and less of the hop bitterness. These give the beer a nice and fresh citrus herbal character without a lot of intensity; instead it has a softly flavorful character with touches of orange and lemon. We dry hopped for two weeks to amplify these delicate hop flavors. Available in 22oz. bottles and draught. ABV 6% IBU 55

Bottle from the Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours hazy amber with an ok off-white head. Aromas of fruit, floral and a touch of something citrus/spicey. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Very nice feel. Flavor is not harsh bitter, but more floral over a decent amount of caramel. Smooth enough to be English - almost. Some bitter does come forth, but the hop is more lush than bitter. Very nice beer.

Light golden pour. The nose is quite fresh. A bit of light pale malt and a kiss of light sweetness. Hops are pretty straightforward. A touch of light grassy/zesty aroma as well as a bit of orange peel as well. Malts are light and lean with a touch of honey… lingering sweetness on the finish.

Bottle: Pours a transparent orange amber with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale malts with some fresh floral grapefruity hops. Starts with good fullness for the style with pleasant light malty sweetness well balanced with assertive citrusy bittering and flavor hops before a crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

bottle, filtered. clear medium copper color. first impression of the nose is gelatin, lime, cream, mint, saccharin and floral soap. WTH? pale/weak body, flabby up front, bitter but transparent and dull on the back. the hops are resinous and pine-like but are dull and peaked. the nose grows from strange to strongly offensive in only a few minutes.
