Hop Pursuit is the ultimate celebration of Oregon agriculture and Pacific Northwest Hops. Our brewers shoot a wonderfully hoppy surplus of Cascade, Mosaic, Equinox, and Simcoe into the fermenter using our Hop Shooter, dry hopping the beer and enhancing the aroma of pineapple and late hop flavors. Piney and mango notes follow with a mid-palate hint of honey. Two-Row Northwest Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts provide the right amount of malt character. Balanced by a clean, caramel malt body, Hop Pursuit’s multi-layered hop flavors lead to a crisp, assertive finish. Like the Pacific Northwest, this IPA has hops for days.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2011 This is a great session beer. Well balanced APA clocking in at only 6%. Not lacking flavor or hops, however. Maybe a touch too citrus-y.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/1/11

Aroma: The nose is fairly hoppy, grapefruit, pale malts, pine, orange, and citrus
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a fizzy white head
Flavor: The flavor has a light citrusy sweetness, with a big, bitting, bitter finish to it
Palate: This one is medium bodied with fairly short duration, a fizzy carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This is rating numero uno of September!. As for the beer itself, it is quite bitter for the style, dry and bitting, but pretty solid. Another nice offering from Full Sail. The quality level from these guys seems to be generally fairly high.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed orange amber color with a one finger white head of foam. The head fades very fast, leaving just a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of an herbal hop smell mixed with some aromas of a tropical fruit nature. Along with these smells comes some aromas of grass and hay along with a bit of a grapefruit hop rounding it out. Taste – The taste begins with a smooth bready flavor that has a decent sum of a tropical fruitiness as well as some nice herbal hop tastes. As the taste advances more and more grapefruit hop as well as some other sweeter tastes of caramel and orange come to the tongue. With some lighter grassy and hay tastes coming at the end and a rather big increase in an almost orange juice like tastes, one is left with a very pleasant, nicely hopped and rather fruity sweet taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average in thickness and chewiness with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of sweet fruit and hop, the feel is very nice and creates a very pleasant drinking brew. Overall – This is a brew that I really enjoyed. It has a great sweet body that is balanced very nicely by the hop and just enough bready/malty taste. This was a smooth and flavorful drinker.

Sarasota, Fl - Total Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Slight sparkling essence to the medium orange pour, bubbly white head, light film of lacing. Aroma has a strong spruce presence, a hint of vanilla sweetness. Pleasant flavor, nice bittersweetness with some caramel sweetness, some grapefruit citrus notes, a touch of mango. Decently thick mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

Pours a yellowy copper with a thick head. Aroma isn’t much - some mild citrus hops, with a weak malt backbone. The flavor brings me right around, though. It’s incredibly clean, hop-forward, and has a depth that makes me want to keep drinking it all night - a caramel-like note that almost reminds me of toasted marshmallows, but not nearly so sweet. It’s crisp, it’s tasty, and in no way overbearing - a great change of pace from the sticky PB Mongo I had last night.

22 oz. bottle purchased at QFC in Mukilteo/Harbour Pointe. Pour a beautiful clear copper color with a white head that dissipates quickly. Flavor: Plenty of hops, but just the right balance. However, I wish it had a fuller body.

Bottle. Slightly murky orange-amber pour with a short white head. Aroma is pine, wet hops, dew covered grass, and spicy notes. Taste is soft lemon and grapefruit, pine needles, wet grass, spicy hops, toasted malt, and light toffee. Body is medium-full with a soft, resinous feel and a prickly carbonation. Finishes with more toasted malt, light toffee, big pine, spicy and earthy hops, more wet grassy notes, and citrus flavors. Very tasty!
