ABUSEDGOAT (1868), California, USA May 16, 2008 Draft at Toronado: Black color, decent lacing and retention. Chocolate and caramel dominate, lightly roasted, pretty light with the dark fruit. Medium bodied, very drinkable. Lacks complexity.
bhensonb (2735), Woodland, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bomber from Liquid Solutions. Opaque brown/balck color with an ephemeral tan head. Nice aromas of chocolate, dark roasted malt and slight coffee. Flavor starts with a light sour note (citrus hop?), dusty dark roasted malt, and a deal of bitter. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Finish is dark bitter malt. Harsher than some. Good to drink. ucusty (849), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville NC - thanks to JCB! notes from this are slightly skewed Dark pour. thin mouth-feel . Mocha flavor Hophead22 (88), Redlands, California, USA Jul 21, 2008 22oz. bottle. poured pitch black, tan head. Sweet roasty chocolate aroma. Bitter coffee flavor, not real smooth, coats the tongue with coffee aftertaste. Okay overall emacgee (976), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Shared by JCB. Pours a dark black with a thin creamy tan head. The nose is raosty, sweet, chocolate, some coffee. Flavor is a bit thin, some waxy hops, bitter coffee and bakers chocolate. Waxy mouthfeel. inkubus27 (73), USA Jul 19, 2008 2008 bomber. Pours deep black with a medium body. Not to thick but definitely not that thin. Aroma lends a boozy note that is overcome by roasted malts and dark fruits. Flavor of this one follows in step with the aroma. It offers a roasted malty flavor with the alcohol not hidden all that well. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness. Overall it’s an average imperial stout. Not bad, but I’ve definitely had better.
