22 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with jake65. 2008 bottle. Pours black with a moderate light brown head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma that is predominantly chocolate along with some alcohol vapors. The flavor is chocolate with roasted malt and just a bit of vanilla. Some alcohol flavor emerges as the beer warms, and there is a bit of heat towards the finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle:   Nearly black, moreso a very deep and dark brown, thin brownish head, spotty lacing.   Roasted malt nose, slight campfire or charred wood, otherwise a lactose like sweetness.   Very roasty on the tongue, roasty without being astringent.   Fairly well balanced, good malt base with some soft hop notes.   Not as robust as other examples, but this one works for me.   A little bigger than your regular stout, but not by much.   Chalky towards the end, even a little dry.   Clean exit.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full, even if it seems a bit bubbley.   As it warms the hops become more apparent on the backside.   Remains chalky well after the finish.   Decent, even if a little light, clean, and rather enjoyable and certainly easier to finish in a 22oz bottle than many others.

Thanks to MASPuros from BA (IIRC). 22oz bottle served in a snifter. Poured a deep brown black with a sparse tan head. Great aroma with lots of chocolate and some fruit. Full bodied, rich and smooth. Lots of malt as you would expect. I think whatever hops were there have faded, so the sweetness of the malt is a little more predominant. I got a lot of licorice in the flavor. Long dry finish of black patent malt. Also some coffee in the finish. I wish I would have tasted this a little fresher.

2008 bomber. Pours a black with a small tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey and roasty. A little burned sugar in the aroma as well. Flavor is full of hot cocoa, roasted malt, and a little molasses. Thinner than I would have expected but tastes great.

Bottle, thanks to ? Sorry, I forgot. Thanks, YOU! Pours black with short-lived tan head and a lasting ring. Looks a tad thin. Aroma of milk caramel, burnt vanilla, chocolate, and ballpoint ink. Similar taste, with more bitter dark chocolate notes and more roasty (and more ballpoint) in the finish. Some soy/teriyaki, and some dark fruits way back on the palate. Long finish. Palate is thin but slick and easy to drink. Very drinkable

This is basically the weaker version of the Black Gold as far as I can tell. Same notes all over just thinner and a bit weaker in all acounts overall. Decent beer, not the best impy stout.
