GreatLibations (1252), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Mar 14, 2008 Pours like iodine w/ a solid two finger head that lingers finally resting to a fluffy lace and soupy canopy. Aromas are strong w/ a roasted chocolatey wallnut infusion. Full nectar w/ mellow residual effers creating a nice creamy texture. Obese malt body w/ scortched roasted chocolate coffee bean right upfront. Thers a defined hop component that could fend off a Yeti. Big and bad yet unbelievably drinkable. Not too sweet. Leather, gum dust, iodine, citrus rind, asprin tingling, w/ a souring on the finish. What I like about this is the strict Belgian tar mingling w/ the American extreme malt factor. The best of both worlds. Beautiful I say. It would benefit from some serious aging. sunevdj (1365), Copenhagen, Denmark May 8, 2008 Pours opaque black with a medium beige head and very nice lacings. Light sweetness with a strong bitterness. Aromas of coffee and roasted malts. Lots of resiny hops aromas. Some alcohol aromas with a pit of prunes and a hint of pear. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Long bitter finish. Yummy. RedSox2004 (152), Pacific Palisades, California, USA May 10, 2008 Poured dark dark brown - just this side of black, completely opaque, with a one-figer brown head - as dark as any head I’ve seen. Chocolate is stronger than coffee on the nose, but both are strong. Also picked up some cherries and plums. Wonderful coffee and cappuccino flavors with dark fruit that lingers in the aftertaste. Rich, creamy, full bodied, just a great experience. mcbackus (607), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Apr 12, 2008 bottle courtsey of jayg: pours a very dark with an esspresso tan head. aroma is a great dark fruit with some cherry, good roast and nice chocolate. flavour is a very roasted and a good raost coffee flavour, very dry and esspresso finish. colemgm8 (363), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Apr 11, 2008 ’07 bomber... pours a deep black with a 1/4" tan head. aromas of liquorice and roasted malts. medium body with notes of coffee, chocolate and the other standards... overall a very solid Imperial Stout, but sub par to the best ones out there.... could be bigger... it is a bit thin over the palate, but still extremely delicious and definitely recommended. It was a treat to find this one while on vacation in Montana, since it is unavailable back on the east coast.
