Full Sail Imperial Stout

pours medium viscosity almost black burnt sienna color with a frothy orange tinged brown head which leaves a bit of drippy lacing behind. the aroma is strongly of malted chocolate powder along with some cream, wood, dark dried fruit and molasses. the palate is nice and dry but the flavor lacks anything to make it special... charred wood, chocolate, light fruitiness and an ashy acidic finish which carries into the aftertaste where coffee finally joins in. light aspirin burn is left in the back of the throat. medium body with soft carbonation. acidity and bitterness make it drink lighter

[1369-20080517] 22floz bottle. Roast malt aroma has lots of coffee and dark roasty stuff. Dark brown body with a quick creamy yellow tan head. Bitter dry roast flavour is like drinking cooled strong black coffee. Full body is dry. Great imperial.

On draft at the Full Sail Brewery in Hood River, OR. Nice 4 oz sample. Very good stout with chocloate, malt, and caramel flavors clear. Nice strength as well.

Bomber from Liquid Solutions. Opaque brown/balck color with an ephemeral tan head. Nice aromas of chocolate, dark roasted malt and slight coffee. Flavor starts with a light sour note (citrus hop?), dusty dark roasted malt, and a deal of bitter. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Finish is dark bitter malt. Harsher than some. Good to drink.
