jerc (3217), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 21, 2008 2008-05-17. Black body with a small tan head. (3+) Moderately roasty aroma, mild coffee notes. Flavour is quite bitter, muddled coffee roast, lightly burnt, malt base. Average to medium bodied palate. (3+) Something about the roast character that I do not care for on this day. Haslinger (549), Syracuse, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 bomber from Kegbear. Thanks. Pours about as dark as a beer can pour. The taste is dominated by the roasted malt but these also some chocolate, especially in the aftertaste. One of the most quaffable Imp. Stouts I have ever had. Would drink again nbutler11 (218), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 15, 2008 Pours like motor oil from the bomber with a trim brown head. Smells of coffee and tastes predominatly of dark cocoa, red/black pepper, and sweet malts. Balanced flavor with a velvety mouthfeel. Highly drinkable, especially for an imperial stout. caesar (2573), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 8, 2008 Tap @ Full Sail PIlsener Room. Decent imperial stout, taste of chocolat and mocha. Some caramel, lacks a bit on the bitterness. Still quite ok. Bockyhorsey (2032), Mesa, Arizona, USA Sep 1, 2008 22oz bottle. Good chocolate coco powder mix aroma. Black body with tan head. Flavor was good blend of chcolate, roasted malt and some oatmeal. Sweeet finish with a dry power aftertaste lingering. Had some alcohol burn on the palate also. fiver29 (330), Strongsville, Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2008 Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. Has a roasty aroma that reminds me of coffee. Has a medium heavy body with a fair amount of carbonation. Taste is dominated by chocalate and roast coffee. Smooth aftertaste. I had this brew with a cigar and it complimented the cigar very well. A sublte smokiness added by the cigar made this a much better brew. I rated it on its own merits, though. With the cigar it goes over a 4.0 easily. Overall I really enjoyed this brew and would drink again with a cigar anytime.
