COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style IPA is a full-flavored, full-bodied brew that has a big bold malt character and intense aromatics. It’s a well-balanced, golden-colored brew that has a crisp hop finish that doesn’t bite. With its palate cleansing finish, IPA is a perfect for highly spiced dishes with curry, ginger, garlic or cumin. This classic English style IPA is brewed with: 2-row Pale malt and is hopped with Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops

Dark golden/pale brown with a thin head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is a little off with some light grassy hops, some cereal/caramel notes, and some earthy musk hints. Pretty odd. Decent mouthfeel with solid carbonation. Taste is odd again. Slight hop bitterness with a quick hint of sweentess on the finish along with an out of place nutty quality. Reminds me of a slightly hoppy cream ale. Not good for an IPA.

Whole Foods, DC six-pack ($9): Pours a light copper color with a quickly dissipating white head that leaves the tiniest bit of lacing. Bready malts and fruity hops are present in the aroma. The taste of the beer is hinted by the aroma and is a pretty run of the mill IPA. It does claim to be more British and this is evident in the lack of extreme bitterness or very intense hops. Instead, it is a fairly well-balanced beer that would be very easy to drink 10 of.

As it says, more of an English style. Citrus/orange in the nose, clear gold, minimal head. Malt/bread dough character to the palate, not enough hops in that part, finishes dry.

we americans do not enjoy the english ipas quite as much as the american ones, but this is fine, not going to knock your socks off by any means, but its very easy to drink, hoppier than i thought it was going to be, but the malts are still very much present. a nice one.

Bottle. Pours an orange color with a smaller white head. Lots of lacing on the glass as it goes. Aroma was pine, citrus and spruce. Flavor was weaker for an IPA. Mild hops, spruce and pine. Medium body. Oily finish. Not a lot to this beer. Average IPA.

[Bottle] Pours a bright orange color with a dense, white foam head. Nice hoppy aroma includes notes of floral hops and grapefruit/citrus. The taste is of bread and caramel malts. Lighter hop notes in the taste are more floral than anything. Seemed a bit more ESB-like than IPA-like. Fruit and lemongrass in the finish. Crisp and somewhat dry. Not bad.

I tried this beer and enjoyed it, though there wasn’t any huge difference between this and other IPA’s that I’ve tried that set this above the pack.
