COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style IPA is a full-flavored, full-bodied brew that has a big bold malt character and intense aromatics. It’s a well-balanced, golden-colored brew that has a crisp hop finish that doesn’t bite. With its palate cleansing finish, IPA is a perfect for highly spiced dishes with curry, ginger, garlic or cumin. This classic English style IPA is brewed with: 2-row Pale malt and is hopped with Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops

Pale very clear pour, golden and producing a tiny white sheet of foam that concentrates on the glass sides. Straightforward hop aromatics jingle through floral and citrus fruit dominants (tangerine, peach juice). Fresh nature, underwhelming malts stay shy and cornered. Fair PNW bitterness, absent alcohol feel. Very active carbonation ensures the food pairing claims, cleansing the tongue effectively, and remaining easy to drink with its thin body characteristic. I’ve probably had almost the same beer under 20+ different names, but it’s a clean if basic hardworker. How they make english hops feel american in essence, only them know.

daknole (5856) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 12, 2008
Bottle from Total Wine. Crystal clear amber pour with a white head. Aroma is good enough with some floral hops, malt, and maybe some grain. Flavor is disappointing, more like a pale ale. Not enough going on with this one.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2006) Orange, white head. Hoppy, citric aroma with some grass. Strong hoppy flavor, grassy and dry. Hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white head, nice lacing and solid head retention. Earthy hop tones, light wooden notes, a light spicy hint. Creamy mouth feel with a light bitter resnious body and a mild citrus note. Finish lightly sweet with a lingering bitterness. Fine.

Creamy hop profile, subtle and sweet, clean and fresh. A smooth ipa with a pleasant feeling body.

33 cl bottle. Dark golden color, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of bread, grass, caramel, pepper. Taste is very bitter from start to finish, peppery and fresh. Not bad.

Amber color, small head but over all nicely made. Aroma with classic bitterness (a la wooden barrels). I know that this one is good expl. of IPA.

Drake (5232) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 25, 2010
12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a pale lightly hazy golden color with a thin white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of peppery, herbal hop notes with a bit of resin. The taste is citrus and herbal hops with caramel malts and candied fruits. Medium bodied. Decent.

Ernest (5184) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 3, 2005
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow to light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Leave it to Full Sail to take English hops and make them smell like floor polish. Boring simple aroma, unbalanced harsh finish (even given the style). Not enjoyable.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
Bottle. Strange aroma for a US IPA- kind of a cinnamon-dusted orange Fruit Pastille and peardrop character more evocative of Belgium and Kent than the Pacific US. Pours beaten gold with a trickle of carbonation and a marbled swirl of head. That jellied orange character re-emerges on the palate, which is honeyed, flowery and slightly stewed with a fresh, junipery G+T bite, and a hint of chocolate Hobnob in the aftertaste. Interesting.
