A fantastic drinker that has qualities of both a great full bodied lager and a full flavored ale. Truly one of a kind, and tended to with love.

7/11/08: Bottle.
Burnt orange body with hints of yellow around the edges. Fresh aroma which flirts with freshly cut grass. Flavor of honey and wheat. Finish is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Pours an orange/copper color wih a near-white head. Aroma is sweet with malts, but not overwhelmingly so. Fairly malty taste with a dose of corn flavor and a fairly decent balance of hops. Mouthfeel is a bit mushy for my preference. Overall, not a bad brew, but I won’t rush out to buy more of it.

12oz bottle. Aroma: Caramel, bread dough, cooked corn. Appearance: Amber in color and clear. Off-white head was medium sized and foamy with fair retention. Not much lacing. Flavor: Bready and grainy maltiness, caramel, earthy hoppiness. A bit of cooked vegetable. Light bitterness. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Maybe it’s just me, but there was too much of a corn aroma/flavor in this for me.

12 oz bottle from New Seasons - It had a quickly disappearing head, but it also had a nice, full color for a lager. Good smooth summer beer and a great lager. It makes me want to mow the lawn so I can have another one.

Sweet and hoppy. Nice golden colour, decent summer brew. Not a strong alcohol taste.

Semi clear amber with a decent white head and some lacing. Smell is sweet dough - almost like sourdough bread. Flavor is sweet and almost hoppy but yet has this ammonia hint to it that I am not a big fan of. Medium gauze-like mouthfeel.

Pours a crystal clear, bubbly golden amber with a very small white head that actually hold on for quite a while around the edges. Lacing is minimal. The aroma is fairly heavy on the sweet caramel malts with a bit of toasted grain in the background. There is a minimal citrus hop whiff as it warms. The taste is a bigger version of the smell with a big malt sweetness up front with toasted malts and grains in the middle that leaves a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. I also got a little bit of nuts in the finish. Mouthfeel is light, but much creamier than most lagers I’ve had with strong carbonation. This is a really well crafted lager and makes for a great summer brew.
