beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Aug 29, 2007 This premium lager pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange and malty with a touch of hops. A medium to light bodied lager. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of orange flavors. The hops are citrusy and a touch spicy. The lively carbonation helps cut the graininess and orange-ness of this beer. Not bad really, just kind of too citrusy. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 29, 2007 28-Aug-07 (12 oz bottle: $7.49/six-pack at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Gorgeous copper color has a very slight haze, but not enough to interfere with the visual attractiveness of the dozens of streams of slowly rising carbonation bubbles. Creamy, rocky, off-white head rises to an inch and a half in height and settles at a very slow rate. Sweet flavors of caramel, honey and grain set a very solid malt base and are mostly balanced by an overall British hop character. This sweet, initial flavor also has a generally fruity tone. Slight lemony tartness in the evolution aids in breaking up the sweetness a bit. The beer finishes with a distinctively British nutty and buttery flavor, plus a spicy, grassy hop bite. Body is medium, and the medium carbonation has a soft mouthfeel, but the palate isn’t especially clean or crisp. Overall, this is quite a complex and interesting beer that would be lost with mindless quaffing. But while I can appreciate the journey this beer takes me on with each sip, I don’t find the beer’s flavor all that enjoyable, so future purchases of LTD 02 are highly unlikely. marvinpontiac (117), Huntington Beach, California, USA Aug 26, 2007 Not much on the nose but it has a nice sweet/malty taste. Nice even carbonation and good mouthfeel. A little hoppier than most lagers but that is just fine with me. hayduke (1621), Eureka, California, USA Aug 26, 2007 At Hops in Humboldt 2007 in Fortuna, CA this poured a clear golden amber with a nice fat off-white head and big lacing rings. Very attractive. Nose is spicy hops and light malts with a hint of alcohol showing. Medium body and very smooth. Flavors are caramel, citrus hops, and are in good balance. Nice bitter finish. Very nice to drink. pantani (1895), Salinas, California, USA Aug 24, 2007 Light amber color, with a very thin white head. Aroma is a light caramel and alcohol, without much else showing. Taste is light caramel with a fruit aspect in the background, light alcohol and pale malts. It’s alright. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 22, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a copper color with a lasting white head. This beer seems to be a simple mix of light malts and crisp hops. Some nutty notes with grass and sugar in the aftertaste. Definitely an interesting mix of ingredients. Could have been a little bit less sweet, with more hops in the finish. Overall not too bad though. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 18, 2007 Cheers to Terminus for picking this beer up for me at the brewery. Pours light bronze with a beige head. The aroma has smooth toasted Vienna-like malt presence, good amount of spicy hops and a hint of butterscotch. Medium body with some lushness that is offset by graininess and semi-soft carbonation. The flavor begins with roasted caramel malt, some nuttiness and some light syrup traits. The finish has some spicy hops and a nice crisp sharpness. An enjoyable lager. IPAndy (120), minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 18, 2007 Deep golden amber color with puffy white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of punchy hops. Flavor is same as aroma, ending with a clean hop spiciness.
