Appearance: Pours a brilliantly clear, yellow-orange body with a modest amount of bubbly white suds on top.
Smell: Light pilsener malt character with a bit of fresh grain and a near-imperceptible honey undertone. Hops drop off a few coarsely shredded leaves and a fruity note of lemons.
Taste: Starts with light pale and pilsener malts with delicate touches (only touches, mind you) of thinly buttered bread and sweet honey. The Saaz-alternative Sterling hops used provide a leafy character as well as a hint of lemon citrus. Fairly restrained bitterness. Finishes dry and smooth.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A nice, thirst-quenching American-born pilsner that delivered some late-August refreshment just in the nick of time. Where to next, Limited Ed. Lager Series? Cavie (1521), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Clear golden pour. Very sparse amount of head. Some bit of sour odor. Lots of grain on the nose with a bit of fruit but not much else. Whoa, bland taste. Pretty watery with almost an afterthought of grain and sweet butter. Some bits of fruit on the finish but still very weak. Closer to a weak maibock than a pilsener in my book. kyzr (1132), Belgrade, Montana, USA

Pous out a dark, straw-like yellow with a solid, thick white head that lingers nicely. Aroma is bready, yeasty, a light bit of pepper and clove. Flavor is flat, a little cardboard like with yeast and light spice. Wish the other aspects were as nice as the pour. All the same, not terrible by any means. drjay44 (828), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick white long lasting head, with slight lacing, over a clear yellow (SRM 2-3) body .......nose of cereal, bit of toffee and bread, some hint of spice.....tastes of cereal, cardboard, initially then moderate lingering hop bitterness, dry throughout, with a clean light finish.....mouth feel is slightly watery early, then firms up with the carbonation coming in. This meets the style quite well. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Straw gold. Small tight head gradually disperses. Sulfur, DMS (creamed corn), and scant hop perfume plague the horrendous nose. Terribly mushy from the start, with fuzzy malt and brash hop bitterness clashing with a sulfuric bite. Alcohol lends substantial warmth despite its modest strength. Poorly attenuated with an insistent creamed-corn sweetness further weighing down the body. Mild twang of fruitiness, along with the rampant sulfur and DMS, overshadow the underlying mineralic snappiness. Absolutely no brightness, whatsoever. Malt compounds the sweetness as it lacks cleanness and definition. Finishes wet, sharply metallic and sugary sweet with alcohol drenched hay and white bread and faint medicine notes. If they would have tried to brew something of lower inferiority, there is a good chance it would have turned out better than this. I love lager as much as anyone, but this is utterly foul. Pours clear dark yellow with a small, fizzy white head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
