2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber with a short off-white head. Floral aroma with some citrus hops and a nice malty mix. Metallic bitterness up front with noble hops and caramel malt making up the back. Its okay, but nothing I’ll have again.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a deep red-amber color, nice frothy off-white but near white head. The aroma was fruity upon opening, caramel, toffee, citrus and floral hops. Flavor is a slightly off caramel and some toffee, tea bags (not really in a good way, either), diacetyl overflow w/ warmer temperatures, and floral and citrus hops. Finishes bitter, somewhat watery in flavor, some sort of a noble hop, firm bitterness in the end with no strong flavors signifying the hop? The mouthfeel is moderate to full for the style, a little more malty than I’d expected. Not a winner for me, especially as a "special" beer which used an extra 1.5% abv (6.5% total). Should certainly have been better, heck, I feel like I over-rated this sucker.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz bottle. Aroma was of a light citrus and that it. Red body with off white head and some lacing. Just an ordinary mild to sweet citrus craft beer to add to ratings on rate beer. Maybe got one of those bad bottles or this was just not as good as other Full Sail beers I’ve had.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Beautiful color blend of copper and amber. Big, creamy beige head and thick lacing. Nose is hoppy and citrus fruit with a balanced malt presence. Taste is more floral in hops, but has citrus and caramel malt present too. I was quite happy with this offering from Full Sail.

Dark amber, moderate head with solid lacing and retention. Aroma is caramel, toffee and grapefruity hops. Medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel, somewhat sweet finish. Enjoyable, I thought this was a weird Red Ale before checking this site.. I feel better now.

22 Special Ounces of Special Red Ale. 2007 Brewmaster Reserve. Dark copper amber color. Foamy tan head. Lots of caramel malts in the aroma. Hint of grapefruit and citrus in the nose as well. Floral flavor, rose, and some candy. Lots of malt. Very balanced palate. I wish I had another bottle of this one!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a dark crimson amber color with a moderate beige head that leaves a trace of lace as it settles. Aromo is predominantly toasty and caramel malts, with a rather generous side portion of floral and herbal hops. Flavor also skews to the malt side initially, again toasty with a bit of dark fruit, then a lightly citrus and floral hop bite comes on from the middle to the finish. Medium body and gently tickling carbonation. Very drinkable.
